| Salams, I'm not entirely sure of the software that drives the Jannah.org message forums, but if memory serves me correct, Yabb is perl-based GPL bulletin board software. If you're open to other (and less buggy) GPL software alternatives, I'd highly recommend wBB. It's very similar to the look and feel of the Islamica Community, offers very similar features and is available for download at: http://www.woltlab.com/en/downloads.php It's not perl-based but rather PHP/mySQL, so it should be friendly to most webhosts out there. Whoever's in charge may want to check it out...just a thought. :) Also, I'd remove the link to Yabb.org from the footer. I checked it out almost broke my fast in the process. I take it that the original developers of Yabb are no longer running Yabb.org :) |

| slm, azher! dude! nice to have ya here ;-D the idea has been suggested to jannah several times to upgrade/change the forum software, but she wouldnt have none of it ;) |

| shoot i'll write a conversion script...this board is nice, but kind of an eyesore (sorry, constructive criticism...nobody here wrote the software...) :) i think this sort of site would probably be best served using some of the great open-source portal software out there, personally. http://www.postnuke.com is probably the best one out there right now :) |

| AWW, Brother Azher, have you used postnuke ???? If so have you managed to use a suitable BBoard. I'm thinkning of using Postnuke or PHPNuke both are good but I need to have a community board like this one integrated into one database as I can only use one database, any ideas...??? I'm thiniking of using Phbb, however its a bit buggy. Salaams Hanif |

| salams, phpBB 1.4 is fairly rock-solid... 2.0 however is still in a very developmental state.... there's a few efforts, however for a phpBB2/postnuke integration...its on sourceforget.net i'd post the link but for some strange reason, i'm not allowed to and nobody answers my e-mails...soo... the actually url is pnbb2.sourceforge.net i'm thinking of playing around with it and possibly using it for the long-overdue islamicaweb-dot-com 2.0 once it's released. :) postnuke will be the back-end for my new site (my name dot com) :) |
