I take it their are quite a few American muslims on this board. So then i ask, who do the Americans side with? The Muslims (Taleban, Mujaahideen, Jihaadi's etc) or do you side with the kuffar (USA, Coalition etc)?

Me? I'm with the muslims all the way. Never will i side with anyone BUT the muslims. We as an Ummah can stand up to these crusaders. So who you with?

forgive me for pointing this out but it is important as i have heard many Muslims ask the same questions .

when you say you side with Muslims then why ask the question, 'who do American Muslims side with.'

we are all Muslim and that is the bottom line.

where you were born or live has no relevance to being a Muslim.

please do not catagorize Muslims by east and west. there are many things that we have learnt during this course of time and the important issue is that we must unite and therefore making distictions will not achieve the right objective.

the other issue is that we have been told by ALLAH swt in the quran and if someone else could quote for me i would appreciate it, i cannot remember the exact words.

but the jist of it is that there are people of different color and language.

there are many layers in the quran for each Sura, this also means that there is a level of understanding and knowledge possessed by each of us which is decreed for each.

thus there will definatly be various opinions among the Muslims according to the understanding and knowledge of Islam.

if we find that there are differnces, we must be patient and tolerant.

the best thing to hold no opinion other then what ALLAH swt has made clear to us.

our Shaykhs,Shcolars, community leaders make clear what we may not fully understand.

sorry brother for the lecture, JazakALLAHkheir for your patience.

May ALLAH swt guide us to the straight path.

Assalaamu-alaikum Bro

"when you say you side with Muslims then why ask the question, 'who do American Muslims side with."

Well the reason i ask is because sadly some American muslims seem to be caught up in all this nonsense about the Attacks being an attack on freedom and that America loves freedom and that this attack was an attack on America's freedom, and that the people who carried it out, or support it in any way shape or form, even saying America asked for it, are trying to bring down American freedom.

However in reality these attacks were in retaliation for the murder, deaths , poverty and genocide which has been carried out by America and its supporters abroad. These attacks were not an attack on freedom. They were an attack on the USA for the way it has behaved and ruined the lives of so many. Sadly SOME American muslims have got caught up in the media rhetoric about it being an attack on freedom, and are in support of the attacks on Afghanistan.

Therefore i am left with a feeling that a large number of American muslims may in fact be supporting the strikes on Afghanistan, falling for their media propoganda.

So i ask the question to know if we have our priorities right. Alhumdulillah the muslims in the UK have thier loyalties in the right place. I hav yet to come across a single muslim in the UK, either young or old who supports the strikes (i'm certain a few DO exist, but VERY few), the VAST Majority support the taliban.

As seems the case with the rest of the worlds muslims. But what of the American muslims? THAT is something i really WOULD like to know!

I personally AM AGAINST THE PEOPLE WHO DID THE ATTACK, cause I know why they did it. It was done for the oil in the Caspian Sea. The Caspian Sea oil can only be transported throw Afghanistan so America needs a puppet regime inside Afghanistan. So all the mujahideen who are fighting the Americans are fighting the people who destroyed the WTO. I am against the people who destroyed the WTO cause it is clear to all whom they are, Mossad and the CIA. The "Muslims" who are on the side of America over this are on the side of the people who destroyed the WTO.
Bush said this is a war for freedom and democracy. I agree, America is fighting for freedom and democracy, and their way of life. The Khilfah is not a democracy as Allah is the only ruler and it is ruled by Allah's laws whether the people like it or not. This is anti democratic and we don't care cause we don't rule for the desires of people, we rule for Allah's pleasure.
America wants to impose their way of life an their freedoms and their democracy on us even though we don't want it. That's why when almost every one in Algeria voted for Islam they supported the kufr government who rejected the elections cause America wants us to have this freedom and democracy whether we like it or not.

asalaamu aalikum,

I think we have to be careful when we question a professing muslim's Islam and imaan just because he sees a situation different from us; when we put quotations onto our brothers (ex. those Amrican "muslims") I think we project an sort of arrogance that is undue, I say this with utmost of respect.

I do know a brother who favours the air strikes to a point, but not that he loves American foreign policy at all;

He is from Afghanistan and he immigrated to the West, I came concerned to him to ask him about his family, and he says "I am happy right now" with the bombing, (i don't think he meant jubilantly but more out of no choice)

I was shocked; "KYON?" I asked, my eyes popping out of my head ["Why!?"]

And then I got the same opinion from another Afghan, and I assume their families share this sentiment.

They feel that Afghanistan needs to be cleaned up; Sure innocent deaths are wrong, but since this can';t be stopped with the arrogant US, they say that the only good thing out of this is that the "oppressive Taliban" will be removed and the people can live a better life there under [what he hoped for at the time] Ahmed Shah Masood of the Northern Alliance.

He and others are very angry with Bin Laden (again, not MY viewpoint) and theTaliban , and to debate the likeliehood of the crime on who is irrelevant to them.

Now in a way, I see their point... I disagree with them on the large part most definitley, and I listen closer because he and others are people who have actually come out of this rule in Afghanistan, and they say it is not accurate of Islam.  When a ruler is unjust, the population should try oust him/them, and that is the only positive aspect of the US air strike (personally I ddon't think many people here as wel as myself think it's worth the swap).

Muslims don't always have to agree with other muslims; where it is important to unite against the kuffar, it is also important to review ourselves to clean ourselves internally and be self-critical; this was the point he was trying to make, i believe.

Input? asalaamu alaikum. abdullah,.

Remember there are 2 sides to every story, and its good to hear both sides.

As a reminder the discussion of the Taliban is not permitted on this board (I have gone back and edited some post(s)), but I highly recommend that you visit this discussion group:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/taliban_info

Its been put together by me and Kashif, and alhumdullilah we have had some good discussions to help clear the misconceptions that many people are hearing about.

It's amazing to me that such a question is asked.  Then again, it's only a reflection of the condition nowadays.  My personal feeling is that I was with the US up until the first bomb fell on Afghanistan.  Here we had a horrific tragedy and Allah only knows who caused it, yet within hours of the incident, the "superpower" (a term which is a clear indication of shirk) had already decided who was guilty.  As everyone can bear witness, Muslims were shocked by this and supported America, but America repays us by bombing a nation which had nothing to do with 9-11.  So as soon as the first bomb fell, the tables turned and all Muslims should support the mujahideen, I say should because nowadays we need a clear fatwa from an established scholar with sound daleel from the Qur'an and Sunnah as to why it is necessary to support our brothers and sisters in Islam.  On top of that the American Muslim organizations are in disarray: should we support the bombing?  why?  why not?  do we denounce Taliban?  why?  why not?  I think there's over 50 national organizations and they can't even come to a consensus over what statement to make.  :(
