I do not mean to offend anyone, but is one of the names of Allah "The Ancient Beauty" or is this just a term used by the Bahais? George gj28210@aol.com |

[slm] there is an article on the 99 attributes of Allah here I can't recall seeing that name there and I personally think that associating Allah SWT with "ancient" can't be justified when Allah is Everlasting or Eternal and therefore not restricted by time as His creation is. waAllahu A'lam- and Allah knows best, [wlm] Ahmed |

Assalaamu alaikum wa Rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuhu Actually, according to Dr. Umar Sulaiman al-Ashqar (and other Ulemaa' he quotes) (ref: The Names and Attributes of Allaah)....there are not just 99 names of Allaah, and the Hadiths pertaining to this in which it is said that Allaah has 99 names, do not exclude the possibility of Him having more than that. Like if i had 10 coins in my pocket, and i said that i had 6...it would be true, i do have six, and unless i said i ONLY have six, this wouldnt exclude the possibility of me having 10. He says that the MAJORITY of scholars do not agree upon Allaah being restricted to having only 99 names. Its a lengthy discussion and since the books in arabic it would be too much to go into now, but if anyone has specific questions or confusions concerning this u can message me or post a reply and ill look it up for you Inshaa'Allaah. Wassalaamu alaikum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuhu |

assalaamu alaikum Just to add to bintul-khattab's comment, her point is substantiated by one of the du'as of the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam in which he called upon Allah by every Name that He revealed to His Angels/Messengers, every name He revealed in His books and every Name He kept hidden with Himself. The du'a was posted a long time ago by Se7en, but i'm not sure where. Kashif Wa Salaam |

[slm] This is the du'aa that Kashif is talking about: O Allah! I ask You by every name that You have, that You have called Yourself by, that You have taught any of Your Creation, that You have revealed in Your Book, or that You may have kept secret with Yourself. Make the Quran the spring of my heart, the light of my breast, the dispeller of my sorrows, the eraser of my anxieties and worries. It can be found in this thread. ˙The Arabic is also there if you scroll down. Wassalamu alaikum. |
