What inspires you in the rememberance of Allah.

okay folks quick question for everyone,

Of what Allahs creation do you find that helps you in remembering Allah ?

It could be anything from the beautiful colours of a peacock
or to how an ant has 10 times its own strength,
or how the spider makes a fine web that science has not been able to produce yet,
or how you see the clouds flowing with the command of Allah.

To me, what inspires me the most is the little insects and bugs that crawl around everywhere. I mean they have a heart, sensory glands,  a brain, they eat and they digest but these bugs are no bigger than an average bread crumb, that reminds me once more, that Allah IS the greatest.

tell me your thoughts....no one liners.

Salaams

salam,

subhanallah, what a beautiful topic!!

what inspires is anything that has to do with nature becuase it is the ONLY thing is this world that is natural, and has always been like that since creation,

another thing is a while ago i recieved an email with a picture from germany that had trees forming "La Illaha Illalah", the gov't of germany blocked this landmark from the public because so many people became muslims after seeing it (and who wouldnt?)

that picture REALLY struck me hard :o , so it pops up every now and then in my head......

wasalam,
nouha:)

slm,

everything mentioned above... especially looking at the night sky.. i liek to go outside at night when its still and silent.. even if its freezing. and just stare at the clear sky... think about how unimaginably huge the universe is, how we're a mere speck compared to it, yet the universe itself is a mere speck compared to Allah (swt).. AllahuAkbar :)

when i see small children explore things that they are fascinated by.. its like you can just see the wonder and amazement in their eyes as they soak up every bit of information around them and love every moment of it.

how somethign at tiny as an atom is the building block of our universe as we know it.. at its most basic level it all seems so chaotic yet it all works together in such perfect harmony.

and not to sound too mushy here ;), but one thing that was stated very well by br. abdullah adhami is the bond of love between a husband and wife:
The relationship between the spouses is the most amazing of all human relations: the amount of love and affection, intimacy and closeness, mercy and compassion, peace and tranquillity that fills the hearts of the spouses is simply inexplicable. The only rational explanation for these most amazing of all human feelings is that: it is an act of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala, "And Allah has made for you Mates (and Companions of your own nature ..." (Surah Al Nahl 16:72) Only our Almighty Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala in His Infinite Power, Boundless Mercy, and Great Wisdom can create and ingrain these amazing and blessed feelings in the hearts of the spouses. In fact Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala is reminding those who search for His signs in the universe that these feelings in the hearts of the spouses are among the signs that should guide humans to His existence as He says in the Qur'an, "And among His signs is this, that He created for you mates from among yourselves that you may dwell in tranquillity with them and He has put love and mercy between your hearts: verily in that are signs for those who reflect." (Surah Al Rum 30:21)
haha.. im soo gonna get made fun of for that one :D

and the list goes on and on... i'll post more when they come to mind ;-D

subhanallah :)

There are a ton of things brother Abu Fatimah.  But one thing that strikes me more than anything else is the night sky.  You really have to go out of the city to realize the grandeur of the sky. Where there's no lights.  Subhan Allah.  Every time I do that, it leaves a huge impact on my heart.  Whoever created *that* is somebody who is just ... awesome!

How great the wonder of the heavens
And the timeless beauty of the night!
How great - then how great - the Creator!
And its stars like priceless jewels
Far beyond the reach of kings
Bow down, for the shepherd guiding them home

Besides that, the mountains.  Like the Rockies.  I went to the Rocky Mountain National Park a couple of years ago for a week long hiking trip.  Subhan Allah, that was one of the most amazing experiences of my life.  You see these huge mountains in front of you, covered with snow and foliage, and you start hiking towards a lake.  After 10 minutes you're exhausted!  And you realize you still have 2 more hours to go till you reach the lake!  You realize how *weak* you are, and how unbelievably grand the creation around you really is.  These lofty mountains that you can't even climb without taking multiple rests in between will one day be flying like wool according to the Qur'an!  These are the very same mountains that Allah says would be rent assunder had the Qur'an been sent down on them.  And yet our hearts remain unmoved, unaffected time after time as we read the Qur'an!

How great the beauty of the Earth
And the creatures who dwell on her
How great - then how great - the Creator!
As its mountains pierce the clouds
High above the lives of men
Weeping rivers for thousands of years

One of the most amazing moments I had in my life was laying down on the road at night with 3 very special brothers, slightly away from our camp site at Moraine Park (Rocky Mountains) around midnight.  The sky was open, and as clear as it can get.  We could literally see thousands of stars!  We saw a clear haze across the sky, which was apparently the Milky Way!  We saw shooting stars flying across the sky every 30 seconds.

Subhan Allah.

That's all we could say.

Subhan Allah!

Man is so heedless.  He's surrounded by reminders from Allah, and yet he acts as if he sees nothing, hears nothing, sees nothing, and goes around disobeying Allah (swt) without any remorse.  May Allah help us remember Him at all times, and forgive us when we forget.

Wassalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah.

Walking along some rugged cliffs in Cornwall, with the waves crashing around you and the wind blowing in your face.  Subhana Allah, you feel SO alive and so conscious of being just a small part of the creation of Allah subhanah wa ta ala.

All the things mentioned above.  Including, as brother Meraj said, the love and affection between husband and wife (moral support for ya there bro'!!).

Sunrise and sunsets, they always leave me breathless.

And, often, little things I see or actions of people that I might forget a moment later but that, at the time, just make me say "Allahu Ahkbar".

Asalaamu alaikum,

excellent topic Bro :)  I love nautal outdoors and I love the weather interacts with it to produce such beauty... as i drive to work in the mornings I love the colour of the morning sky, the glorious colours and formations of clouds contrasted against the dark hills....

as i look out of the window in the daytime I see the trees with leaves of every shade of green and some with rich dark red coloured leaves, SubhanAllah!

I see the perfect blue sky and think about how the weather reporter had predicted rain for today (i never believe them anyway because the weather is by the will of Allah) and I feel special because it feels like the nice weather was just meant for me:) and I'm thankful to Allah....

then as i'm driving home, the sun is low and casting magnificent colours in the sky and changing the colour of the leaves by the river to a golden hue and the clouds look like they were painted with an artists brush and I feel peace in my heart when I think of the Glory of Allah.

as I'm writing I'm reminded of that peace.... jazakAllahu khairan.  what a perfect way to feel just before heading to Jummah!

wasalaam,
Ahmed

ps. you all gotta visit New Zealand sometime :)

Salam,
For me it's
Thunder Storms...
..to watch the sky darken
..to  hear the thunder roar
..to see the lightning strike
..and the rain pour down in sheets..
..the wind blow in powerful gusts..
..and ppl rushing to get inside..
..seeking protection
..then to watch
..the dark clouds drift away
..and the sun shine down again..

Truly a magnificent event..a sign for those who ponder..

salam,

Assalamalaikum

There are just so many things!
Besides all of what the others have mentioned, i feel a sense of awe every time i peer down a microscope looking at those bugs (i work in a lab)..how Allah ta'ala has put life into the tiniest of creatures. Every time i hold a culture plate i can't help but think ...Allah ta'ala has given this thing amazing power..if even the tiniest bit got into me it would wreck havoc..

Another is all vegetation in general and flowers in particular.Flowers are just SO beautiful..their colours, design, scent..just amazing...

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah,
For me it's two things, both of which were classes I took:  The brain, and astronomy.  I was in these classes and for everything I learned, I couldn't help thinking: Subhan Allah.  The brain because human beings haven't even begun to comprehend how it works: Our own brain isn't powerful enough to figure itself out!  Imagine how powerful Allah is!! And astronomy because just about everything we learned was in the Qur'an

I thought that was funny and sooo true. Subhana Allah, all the things mentioned above....
i grew up on the banks of the Indian ocean in east africa, so memories intertwined with the awe of Allah's grandeur is what i feel when i see *huge* waves crashing on sea shores...
I am inspired by anything *wild*, untameable, and unpredictable by man... natural phenomenons that serve to remind us of how truly stupid we are to even begin to think our way into arrogance and pride...
I loooveee nature, wild flowers, tigers...
I adore winged creatures from butterflies to eagles... I especially love the way eagles soar in Allah's winds, Subhanna Allah the mastery of such flight!!! When watching two or more circle each other its like they are singing this beautiful melody only my soul can begin to grasp :-)
I am fascinated by diversity in everything....talk about the ultimate freedom of choice...Allah (S.W.T) has laid down a blanket of different grades, shades, gradations that encompasses the whole universe...and each individual is given just enough will power to simply "affirm" or "reject" and thus we shape our own little universes...
Humans absolutely fascinate me...everything about us...when i was younger i used to be an avid people watcher, in any gathering...i still do so but have to stop myself (knowing its impermissibility)...
Light in any and every form inspires me...Metaphoric (spiritual and how we can be transparent enough for Allah to use us as vessels) and physical (how dust particles dance, rainbows pronounce, and colors enhance)....
Subhana Allah...the list is endless...Alhamdullillah for all these and more...

I especially love Autumn. It's my favourite season. Last week I was driving through the black forest with my husband. The sky was clear blue, the sun was shining, there was a fresh chill in the air and the trees were all different colours. The fields were green, and we saw sheep and cows and at one stage a field full of geese!! :)

And all I could think and say all the time was "Subhan Allah. Subhan Allah. Subhan Allah"
