Muslims on Kilroy were a disgrace

Assalaamu-alaikum

I apologise for the tone of this message, but i am still huming at the Kilroy debate show this morning on BBC1 which i feel we muslims in the UK were disgraced and hijacked by pathetic apologists and modernist muslims who dont have a CLUE about what they are talking about.

Their were several "muslim" women, giving "verdicts" on how islaam says that muslims living in a certain country must be loyal and side with this country in times of war. She then said that any muslim siding with a taliban was not a proper muslim, and was not following what islaam teaches.

But HOLD ON WOMAN, how DARE you say these mujaahideen are not following the proper teachings of islaam when YOU YOURSELF had NO Hijqb on, your hair was all made up, you were covered in make-up, and you were wearing revealing tight clothes? HOW DARE you question these brothers and sisters and claim THEM not to be following islaam when you OPENLY flaut islaamic laws and rulings on womens dress?

In another case, thier was some dodgy immigrant muslim from pakistan with a cheesy little tosh, and he was saying that taliban volunteers were a disgrace to the muslims and they should never be allowed back and they should be locked up if they do return. He said NO muslim could ever justify joining the taliban by betraying britian!

ANOTHER sad excuse of a muslim, clean shaven, was coming out with how loyal he is to britian, how britian is a wonderful place which gives tolerance and respect to all, how he is so proud to be british, and how he is disgraced by the taliban. Well why dont he walk through a white estate and see how welcome the young whites make him feel.

I cannot believe where they get these guests from. I have yet to speak to, or hear a muslim in person say they support the US. So where the hell are they finding these apologists from and then claim them to be representing islaam? Its an utter disgrace to the real muslims.

Also what appaled me was how these "muslims" were referring to the practising muslims as extremeists and fundamentalists! These people covered in makeup, no hijab, no respect to islaamic dress, no beards, little cheesy tosh's, clean shaven, HOW DARE they talk bad about those brave and fearless muslims who have got up and have gone out to defend the honour, integrety, dignity and independance of the muslims who are being murdered? How DARE they.

Yes i know i'll probably get lectures from some of you saying i shouldnt be dissing those guys behind thier backs, but i dont care, because those guys dissed the proper muslims openly in front of millions, and therefore i feel no sympathy or regret in writing about them in this way. This is toned down 300% from what i really think of them.

I caught about half of this show and, without wishing to agree / disagree with MW's points or style, I was struck by the following:

1. [sarcasm]We are SO lucky in this country to have so many knowledgeable scholars ever ready to tell us what Islam "really" says.[/sarcasm]

2. How the focus of the debate was shifted from whether British Muslims should fight against the British to whether British Muslims should fight for [mock righteousness]those nasty, women hating, finger chopping Talibans[/mock righteousness].  After about ten minutes the debate was carrying on as though the war had no relevance (even the token one offered by Blair et al) to the events of 11 September and as though the UK and US had declared war on Afghanistan because of the Taliban regime.

3. How so many Brits (whether white or brown, Muslim or non-Muslim) seem to be in favour of a war that is so obviously wrong (in logic, morality and possibly in law too), without even thinking about it.

4. How easily people are manipulated.

I too felt angry and sad watching this programme.

Waalaikum-as-salaam

What i thought was the most heartening thing was the way that white, none muslim women, wearing the white top, put across the argument IN FAVOUR of why muslims would join the taliban, saying "of course they would wanna join when they see hundreds of innocent people being killed in Afghanistan". She also viciously condemned the bombings, somethng which ALL the muslims (excpt one women) only done so reservedly, COWARDLY. Not ONE muslim was outspoken or had the guts to speak how they really felt for fear of being seen in an "unfreindly to britian way). It really was sad to see such pathetic excuses for muslims being shown as the voice of the muslims in the UK. I VERY RARELY watch that show, but only watched when the guy mentioned british muslims. I was hoping we would get people who would stand up for islaam and the taleban, people who would aggressively condemn this war. Instead we had representing us a bunch of loosers, a bunch of hijabless, make up covered women, men who didnt even have beards, and basically a bunch of muslims who suck up to the brits and chuck islaam out the window. And whats worse, these IDIOTS had the nerv to say that muslims fighting for the taliban were mis interpreting islaam. What HYPOCRITES! I wish i was on that show, i would have OPENLY fractured those "muslims", and i would have really made them cry, not becuase i'm some brute, but because they openly dissing and tried to humiliate the mujaahideen and those muslims to strive to defend the muslims. O how lucky they were we didnt have real muslims with guts in that audience. How lucky. Inshallah next time they will be up against the real muslims.

Inshallah today, Question Time on BBC one will be from Leicester. I am hoping that their will be real gutsy muslim on that show who will not coware and will state the real position of the muslims in this country to show the nation how much support the muslims have for the Afghans.

I saw the end of it. it was disgusted by it.. only saw the end. any way, i have seen what kilroy has writen in news papers. He hates Islam. he attacks islam and Muslims none stop.
The kind of Muslims they want us to be is this kind. the kind who some one who hates our prophet will like.
any way he said at the end what this war was about. and it was true. it is about Freedom and democracy, the western way of life. and fighting for it. what i mean islam, islam goes against this, so if we dont change our religion to a exceptable form, then we must be fought until we do or are exterminated.

Assalaamu-alaikum

Yeah the final "speech" by kilroy just about sommned up the farce this show was.

You say this war is about democracy and freedom, but is it? It isnt. If they want domocracy and Freedom (anything goes) then fine, keep it in your countries. We muslims aint got nothing against it. What we DO have a problem with, and we have a MAJOR problem with this, is when you start forcing your will on other cultures and other civilisations,a nd other ideologies, and what really makes the enemies for yourselfves (West) is when we refuse to adopt your culture, and so you try and punish us by imposing sancxtions, embargo's, boycotts, bombings etc. THAT is something we muslims will not accept. Their british way of life is not under threat from bin laadin or anyone, so to laughably claim it IS a fight to maintain britians freedom is a joke, and a lie. This is about you imposing your will on a nation who has shown defiance to you, defeince to your culture, and defiance to your policies towards it, and it enrages you, so you wanna attack them, and what better excuse then to say this defiant nation is threatening your freedom. What a pile of rubbish these guys come out with!

Insahallah the muslim's across the world have shown how they really feel. And it was 1000 times the opposite of those jokers they had on today.

What i wanna know is where do they find the audience? Where did they find so many muslims like that? I have never met any! So where are they coming from? Are they all actors or what?

Remember several talk shows, including kilroy was found guilty of using actors as guests!

Assalaam alaykum wa rahmatulah

I wasn¡¦t fortunate enough to catch the summarised episode of Kilroy (maybe that¡¦s a good thing) but I can imagine how cringe factoring it must have been. I've caught a few programs with Muslims having their say on the war and it's come to my attention that the British Muslims tend to be represented by either Haroon from the Halal Butcher, Bara from the Baker or Karim from the Candlestick maker! Why can¡¦t they ever find someone who can at least read or write and who refrains from saying 'init' or 'yeah man'.

Yesterday I switched to channel 5 and saw a guy from Bradford who works in a sweet shop. His name was Muhammad but he preferred to be called Raymond?!! (I personally do not see the phonetic link between Raymond and Muhammad but anyway!). He kept saying Sep 11th attacks were not part of Islam (which is true - Islamic law does not accept suicide, or people who persuade other's to affiliate in such activities). Anyway, 'Raymond' went onto to say how he totally supported the attacks in Afghanistan and felt that because he was British he would be happy to fight against the Taliban. Well at that point I had major cringe factor and resolved that if I ever past Bradford I'd never eat in his sweet shop!

I myself cannot understand why these shows do not bring on some scholars of Islam, eloquent people who can represent Islam and make us feel proud and totally destroy the cringe level indicators which have been rapidly rising when Haroon the Halal butcher appears on TV. Anyway I started wondering 'why do a portion of British Muslim's support the attacks on Afghanistan?' Perhaps they are afraid of being outcast by the British community. They want to earn a living and live in this country without being persecuted. Or more worryingly what if they seriously believe the attacks are right? After all, many are only exposed to Western media. Pick up a British newspaper and the twisted wording and propaganda brainwashes a person into thinking the killing of innocent Afghan babies by smart bombs are justified. There¡¦s a lack of Muslims who are scholars in Islam. Its sad but many Muslim¡¦s prefer to be educated as Doctors, lawyers, engineers, and studying Islam at a higher level has become something secondary. Who will be left to represent us and guide us? :(

Its sad and even if there are grown up British Muslim men who are too frightened to stand up and say the war is wrong. At least there are little non-Muslim Latvian girls, who are brave enough to SMACK the Prince of Wales around the chops with a bunch of flowers and distinguish between wrong and right :)

     AsalamAlay.com,
Peace and e-Greetings be upon you all,

As British born muslim living in Toronto Canada now
who has BBC World TV service on his digital cable,
I just wanna join in this thread...  :-O

Sometimes, on the BBCWorld channel we get, they show
this town hall type of meeting spread across three cities.

The last one I saw was a one hour show, hopping from
London to Islamabad to New York and back again.

In each city's studio they had a cross section of people,
muslim and christian and secular (I suppose), Imams and
journalists, politicians and I'd say they had a pretty
fair discussion. They allowed sisters in FULL NIKAB to
counter stuff said by muslim sisters with the make up and
hair do, likewise with brothers, bearded or not.

...So, I get this impression that perhaps, the 'Beeb' and
Britain by extension, is one up on those of us who hafta
suffer the daily 'Terrorist Experts' verbal diarrhea on
US Network TV (Most Canadians get ALL the US network channels).

     Then...I read this thread...

     Aw well.

A muslim population of millions in the UK, makes it EASIER
to find the 'house muslim' from the so many 'field muslims'
to mimic the master's instructions... to borrow and alter
a phrase from Malcolm X. He spoke of the 'House Negro'
vs the 'Field Negro' who worked the Plantations in the US South.

This thread reminds me when the Pope visited Toronto back
around 1978-1980, I can't remember the exact year right now.

Today, there are about 75,000 - 80,000 muslim families in
Toronto, about 12-15% of the City's population, making for
     about 300,000 muslims or so.

Twenty one years ago, we had perhaps just 2,000 - 3,000 muslim
in Toronto. Hardly any hijabs were seen on the street.

So, I'm watch The Pope's Public Mass on TV, (hey, it was
a saturday or sunday afternoon and nothing else was on TV
     to watch).

Suddenly, the TV reporter, who even at my young age I recognized
was anti-semetic against muslims, turns around and 'interviews'
this african-canadian lady, with full Hijab, as to why she
is here in person to see the Pope.

Needless to type what she said, cuz I just don't believe
she was muslim in the first place.

I still think to this day, that was a non-muslim person
who was just planted there in collusion with that reporter
     to insult Islam.

Perhaps those 'people' on that show weren't 'Muslims' at all.

There are a Lot of Blonde Hair BLue Eyes Muslims and
many brown skinned black hair Hindus or Christians out there.

Could it be so hard to 'find' some 'Muslim-Looking' people
to go on air and 'pretend' to be a 'regular Muslim person'?

Perhaps they were still thinking it was Halloween and
     came to the TV Studio 'dressed' as . . . muslims . . . ?

did anyone notice kilroys reaction when the white muslim brother said 'i am a muslim' and kilroy was like 'you are a what?' he was so shocked as to how he let a non-brown muslim slip onto his show!

The moral of the whole programme was to determine your 'britishness' and to apparently give british pakis sorry i mean british muslims a chance to begim to speak but just as they start to say something interesting cut them off and move on to a nationalist! it makes me soo mad!

Do not worry, its time we fundy's started making some loud noises on thier TV shows! Inshallah we now know their trends i.e. they are looking for butt kissers and suck up and wannabe coconuts to appear on thier shows. So if approached, we should say we a re against the taleban etc, and say we are proud british muslims, etc etc, just to get on the show. Once on, we show them our reality, ie. if its a choice between the taliban and Britain, taliban (muslims) ALWAYS come first, no matter what, we muslims will stick together, we are ready to fight british troops etc etc. They need to know that we muslims are not a bunch of cowards. We just gotta be more tactful to get onto the shows.

I didn't watch Kilroy but all I can say is what do you expect from a 'chat show'? These programmes are designed for entertainment, not for intellectual debate!

If any of you have ARY digital I would recommend that you watch Br Daud Musa who regularly appears on discussions which cover the motives for Western occupation in the Afghan area. We need more people like this brother to expose the truth!

May Allah (swt) wake up the entire Ummah

Fantastic Industructable? LOL!! :) What a name! SO i take it you have bullet proof skin? Well just let me take a few shots to see ;)

"Now has anyone seen any broadcasts that they liked?

lol. No. Their is NO WAY the media are gona allow islaam to have its say and to be portrayed in a good light! They want Islaam to be coming across as a barbaric, brutal regime which needs to be crushed. If the sheepish kuffar in this country get to see the true islaam, the media (dictated to by the Govrnt) might make people sympathetic towards muslims! And that is not in America's interests!

some times they say good things about Islam.... are you thinking ???
the thing is the good things they say are no true. they are what they want Muslims to be, not what islam is.
so the reason they say it is to try and make us kaffar and dump all the parts of islam they don't like.

salam,

even though the majority of programmes speak negatively about islam, there are some that do not.

i am writing from (albanyia ;) ) united states and after the attacks of sept 11th, one of our local news channel held a discussion live for everyone to see with local muslims, jews, activists , etc, and my imam (Shiekh Mukhtar Maghraoi) was speaking for the muslims, and it was soooo good because some poeple watched it that i know and they said that it really took away many of the "myths" that they were believing from CNN and those other reports.....

maybe the way people will see "real" muslims on TV is if local muslims go to the broadcasting stations and ask to have a show on "real" muslims, and they way islam really is.

i doubt they will agree but it doesnt hurt to try it out....

wasalam,
nouha:)

did any of you brits watch that programme last night on channel 4 about that woman, zarah shah or someone? she went to afghanistan and 'tried to show how afghan life has changed since Sept 11th..', is she Muslim at all!?? sheessh...most of it was a web of lies as usual, about the taliban...

RAMADAN reporting can be distinct from any other news.

It doesn't hafta be tied up with reporting of events other

So, what have you all seen so far?

Okay this program was not really Islamically related but did anyone see the BBC2 9pm documentry shown this week called 'Trading races'?

It was about people of different cultures experiencing life as another culture by disguising themselres with makeup. e.g. an English lady was made up as an asian lady and was experiencing life as a Muslim. Their thoughts were quite interesting.
