| Fundraising dinner for the people of Afghanistan A Part of the 'Stop the War' campaign Convened by the City Circle. Hosted by ArRum. SPEAKERS: Jeremy Corbyn (MP) and Carol Naughton (CND chair) All proceeds will go to the Islamic Relief Afghanistan Emergency Appeal. Time: 6.30pm Date: Saturday 10 November, 2001 Buffet: Traditional Afghani Venue: ArRum, 44-48 Clerkenwell Road, London EC1M 5PS Tickets: 20 pounds (payable to 'Islamic Relief') Prominent anti-war speakers and activists expected. Objectives: 1) To highlight the magnitude of the humanitarian crisis, exacerbated as a direct result of war. 2) To raise funds for the innocent refugees caught up in the conflict. 3) To convey a simple message that today an unjust war is being fought between the most powerful nations on earth and the weakest and most impoverished. 4) To recognise that without evidence and a total disregard for the rule of law, this approach will only bring greater human misery and an increase in resentment towards the west. 5) To put forward a peaceful and just alternative.
