| slm, a movie whos theme is islamically-oriented :) it either directly talks about islam, or closely follows any number of islamic values and has a benefit to it. for example, [u]The Message[/u] is an islamic movie :) |

| slm, wa eyyakum :) well my understanding is that as far as big name productions, there havent been very many that can truly be called 'Islamic' movies, or at least that is the case in the US... however, i'm sure there are numerous foreign or independent islamic movies out there, i just havent heard of too many of them. |

| Assalaamu alaikum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuhu, k..i guess there havent been too many discussions about them then...:) but then this probably follows on to the topic of whether the process of making a movie is halaal, as it includes filming which some scholars regard as image making, and acting, which some scholars also have issues with...and often also music..... ...so back to the original point, if its a movie (and includes all the connotations which ordinarily come with the word 'movie') (even something like The Message)...can it be called Islamic? wassalaamu Alaikum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuhu |

| slm Ach! We've had this discussion before. Someone put a link up here puleeeze! Sister, opinions vary on this. You're entitled to yours and the ones who don't share your opinion are entitled to theirs. It depends on which scholars you listen to and so on. Anyway, this is also the thread where we discuss any surfacing of Islamic topics on TV or in Film. So we can vent about how badly things were done, or we can glory if some nice dawah was done. Don't take it too literally, that's all :) It's like the old discussion why do the brothers post in the sisters section and vice versa. Take it easy :) 8-) wasalaam eleanor |

| slm no, no, no sister! Sorry if I made you feel like an outsider or something. Normally when someone brings up an old discussion, then we stick up a link to the old thread for that person's benefit. | As salamu alaykum I really dont understand how a movie can be islamic.The message had a islamic theme,thats it.movies r not islamic they r a bunch of people pretending to be someone else. Thats my point any way |
