As salamu alaykum This might seem a stupid question but I actually need to know it from someone else. We all know that yeast is used to make bread.Now does this yeast help in making alcohol cuz they use yeast in making khamar and if it does then isnt that khamar. AllahuAlim |

wa alaykum as salaam wa rahmatAllah, That's not at all a stupid question. Yes, when the yeast ferments in bread it does produce alcohol, but the amount is so negligible, it's ok to consume (and it's this same rule that makes chocolate and caffeinated drinks ok to consume, even though they have minute amounts of alcohol).
