How does everyone get up for Qiyaam? I mean after Tarawih, we come home, eat :) , sit with the family, eat more :) , log onto jannah.org and then sleep. But the days tiredness does kick in and Tarawih does add to this even if you have slept a little before going to the mosque to freshen up. Because of this I do find it a little difficult to get up during the night for qiyaam.

So what sucessful routine/program do you guys follow?

I recommend that you always keep the sunnah of Allah's apostle in mind (as well as Allah) when you're making Qiyyam. Remember that Allah's apostle had it a lot worse than you. Allah's apostle didn't wake up from a warm bed, he woke up from a thin mat. He would pray for hours, even when water would pour through the roof of the humble Madinah mosque. Allah's Apostle purposefully made his sleeping environment uncomfortable so he would wake up for nightly prayers. If Allah's Apostle could endure all of this, certainly you, living in a modern society and in a comfortable home, can endure Qiyyam. These thoughts motivated me to make the nightly prayers when I was a Muslim.

Just get up a little while before fajr, and pray. :)

Assalamu alaikum,
This is what I do to avoid feeling drowsy just before Tarawih prayers.

Have something very light after breaking your fast.
Some people tend to tuck into a heavy meal soon after Maghrib prayers.
You should avoid doing this.
Instead, you could eat after Tarahwih.

I would prefer to have two sandwiches and a fruit at Iftar. Just
enough to subdue my hunger and not fill my
stomach. After Maghrib prayers I relax a bit.
Then I go for Isha and Taraweh. Soon after I come home to have my
supper and then I sleep away to glory.
Thus I get to offer Taraweh with the congregation.

Despite all the precautions if you find it hard to stay awake read
Surah Kahaf and then take a short nap but do
make a firm resolve to get up for Tarawih.
Insha Allah, you would be able to get up for Tarawih prayers.

Last but not the least : Pray to Allah so as to enable
you to offer Taraweh because Allah will make it easier for you to do
good deeds.
"Lo! Allah is Able to do all things."

Wassalamu alaikum,
