| [slm] This past weekend there was a book fair held in my city, so me and my friend volunteered to staff our islamic school's booth. We really had no idea what to expect, with all this anti-Islam propaganda going on. But let me tell you what happened: So many people: young, old, men, women, black, white, hispanic came by the booth asking "Do you have qur'an?" "Do you have something that explains what Islam is?" "Where is your mosque?" and saying things like "I'm catholic, but I wish we could fast like you" "I'm jewish, but I think what israel is doing is wrong" "I don't like what they say on CNN, I want to find out on my own about Islam." We had a stock of 15 spanish qur'an, we sold out. Pamphlets like "Who is Jesus?" gone. So much thirst for knowledge, and we were in the cultural section of the fair, so around us were jewish, christian, new age, hindu, ahmadiyya, atheist booths, yet we were packed both days. One guy in particular told me "These ahmadiyya guys got it all wrong, I know Muhammad was the last prophet" It was the most amazing and inspiring experience, what a way to start Ramadan! Since I speak spanish I became the "official representative for Islam" and as I would talk to one person, 5 more would gather around. People were like "tu eres musulman? que bueno, yo respeto mucho esa religion" (you're muslim? that's good, I respect that religion very much). This is the greatness of Allah, I didn't even go with the intention to give dawah, I thought we would just sell some books. So many people being guided to Islam, despite all the vicious propaganda. Newspapers and TV cameras at jumuah, Ramadan on all the newscasters' lips, Qur'an flying off the bookshelves. I pray that all those people I spoke to become muslims, because I first heard about Islam from a classmate in 9th grade and at 20 years old I took shahadah. I'm on a sort of spiritual high right now, I feel like Islam is unstoppable and whatever designs these world leaders and politicians have to stop it, they will fail miserably. LA ILAHA ILA ALLAH WALHAMDULILAH WA ALLAHU AKBAR!!!!!! |

| [slm] Inshallah their designs will fail. :) Your post made me happy. :) Thank you for sharing that with us. I plan to set up a booth at my college campus too with phamphlets and booklets. I just need someone else to be there with me to answer some questions that I might not know the answer too. [wlm] |
