Well you can always learn some bits about Islaam here and you can certainly make new friends.

So best best is to register on this site, post your intro and I'm sure that some sisters or even brothers could help you out and perhaps be good friends.

So don't delay register today. (what a cheap sales pitch for jannah.org)

Salaams

hey,

what's up Cara?

My name's Abdullah (nee Anik lol)

Hope you have a good time here... Lemme tell you how it starts...

one day you stumble upon the site or see it referred to in an email that's been forwarded a million times over... then, you check it out, feel kinda wierd at first... maybe you see a forum you like and you just watch the conversation for a while (you are then called a "lurker" :)). After that, you get the guts to register, you post a small, quiet posting in some forum, someone notices the newbie, asks you to intro in the Bebzi, Brother Meraj brings in the Welcoming Wagon :d and everyone else says what's up (or salaam :)).

This is a great place to learn about Islam-

just enough theory, practice, personal accunts, friendship, politics, and even some healthy debate.  If the world ran like Madina, it would be a lot better place.

Soon, you'll keep coming back... the people are from all over the globe inputting their view of life... all in the Praise of Allah... and for the benefit of our Islamic brothers and sisters as well as those interested in learning about Islam.  I find myself praying for people here I have never seen before, being wished well by people who exist beyond just the typed words that i see... So how much have you learned already? take it easy. abdullah,.

I can't get over how kind everyone is, I did register and even did a couple of posts :)  Getting brave here. What is this inro everyone speaks of do I just tell a little about myself and post it or ????

Thank You for all the kind thoughts and welcomes. I became interested in Islam about two years ago when I met a Muslim lady. She was kind and provided me with info. I never really followed through.

Then about 4 to 6 months ago my interest returned even stronger. Im think at first I wanted to know more and understand more. A while back a minister I know in a sermem put down another religon not Islam but another. I notice my heart feels sad and heavy when I hear someone beliefs put down. So many closed minded people. Anyway I was shocked to learn that Muslims believe in Jesus maybe not in the same way. And I was shocked to learn they believe in the begining with Adam and Eve. I see the split came with Issac and Ismeal. Before that we were the same if I am understanding right. I have in Yahoo chat a wonderful friend who is like a brother to me and calls me sister. He is in Saudi and he said no matter Muslim or Christian we all come from the same Grandparents >> Adam and Eve. That touched my heart. I told him I was learning about Islam but what if I decided to stay Christian would he still want to be my friend and my brother? He replied even if I stay a Christian he will be my brother and my friend and again said "we were from the same grandparents." Now that is brotherly Love. He has invited me to visit him and his family in Saudi and I hope some day to go.
