| [slm] He speaks english, french, italian, swahili and arabic! Born into a Swahili speaking Catholic family in North Tanzania in Dec 1993 (article dated 1999). At the age of four months he started reciting verses from the Quraan and his first words were "you people repent and you will be accepted by God". I would not have believed it if I hadn't seen the video of this kid preaching in arabic :o His name is Shariff Idd. I have a newspaper article in jpeg format, drop me an e-mail if you'd like me to forward it to you. Anybody else heard about him or got any articles on him? I saw a video of him a couple of years back, any idea where he is now?? wasalam, Ahmed |

| [slm], I have a video of this one also. And to me it looks like some one has made the boy by heart few arabic sentences and few verses of the Quran and he always starts off in a high pitch with gestures and all that. Seems like some one is making pretty good business doing this. I saw that one stadium was capacity full to hear this boy. Allahu Alam. Wassalam Eqbal |

| slm We had a thread on this a few months ago. At first we were all amazed and then it came out that it was all a hoax, unfortunately. The boy has been taught some verses and that's all. When he is questioned further or asked to recite something different he is bewildered. His father always tries to jump in and answer for him. They had taken him around America at the time of our discussion. He was supposed to have been responsible for thousands of conversions (not necessarily a bad thing). Anyway, maybe someone can hook you up to the old thread? wasalaam eleanor |

| hmmmmmmmmmmmm,,,, i need some money,,, hay if any of you lot give me a large sum of money i'll ask my pet gold fish to do dua for you. i can make up much better stories about my gold fish then the boy one. |
