| Football Tournament The Light of the Youth has planned a great festival of sport. The football tournament will be a great opportunity for young Muslims across London to interact and enjoy themselves. The event will take place on: 23rd December 2001 from 9:30 a.m. at The Power League Bobby Moore Way Friern Barnet London N10 1ST (off Colney Hatch Lane) Football Rules: The squads will consist of a maximum of eight players. Players in each squad can be any age between 12 to 18. (If possible try to get a mixture of ages in your team to make it fair). Games will be played over ten minutes. Each half will be five minutes long. In the knockout stages, draws will be decided by penalty shoot-outs. If the goal keeper steps outside his area, the opposition will be given a penalty kick. If a member of the defending team steps inside the area the opposition will be given a penalty kick. If the attacking team steps in the opposition area , opposition will receive a free kick. The ball cannot be kicked over head height. A kick over head height will give the opposition team a free kick. Each player will be required to wear shin pads. Trainers or Astroturf boots will be needed. Last years competition was a great success. Tournament Structures Your team will be placed in groups of four teams. A win will give you three points and a loss will give you zero with a draw giving you one point. The top two from each league will go through to the knockout stages. The winners of each group will play the runners up of each group in the quarterfinals to the finals, which will be on a knockout basis. *Refreshments will be provided.
