slm I hope that you are all enjoying and making the best of this month of Ramadan. Brothers, sisters, can I ask something of you please? I shall be starting a new job next Monday, Insha Allah. Please include me in your duas. It's a bit of a career change and I'm a bit nervous about it all, so please wish me well, Insha Allah. Can I apologise to those of you that have sent me e-mails and messages to which I have not replied. Insha Allah I shall do so once things get back on an even keel for me. Thanks for your time. Jazaka Allah Khair Haaris |

as salaamu alaykum,
It's not the deli thing is it Bro Harris ??
Heh :) InshaAllah I will make dua for you.. does this mean I can't call you when I'm locked up? The sad thing is, I don't know if that's even a joke anymore considering the Patriot Act.. |

Asalaamu Alaikum ;-) InshaAllah all will go well Br Haaris ;-) I hope this new job doesn't entail a long journey to and fro. I know a brother who has recently changed jobs and now sometimes faces a 7 hour round trip to work in bad rush hour traffic :o |

slm Jazak Allah Khair for all your wishes.
Can you tell us about the job?
I'll still be a lawyer (hey, c'mon, nobody's perfect) but instead of being in private practice I'll be in-house. Still doing more or less the same stuff but this time for only one client: my employer! I'm a bit nervous because at the moment I'm one lawyer, part of a team and supported by library and other support services. Next week, Insha Allah, I'll be one lawyer. On my own and expected to know everything about every kind of law (from the "Oh yeah, I tripped on a paving stone yesterday, can I sue anyone" to the "Look at this 100 page lease for a building and tell me how we can get out of it" kind of thing). Ho, hum. It'll be a challenge.
not the deli thing is it Bro Harris
Not yet but, Insha Allah, you never know, in a few years maybe. Why, do you think it'd work?
why is this a selfish request
I just feel that there are brothers and sisters who need it more but I still asked: being selfish. I know that the mercy of Allah knows no bounds but the time that His servants spend asking for it is limited.
a 7 hour round trip to work
Alhamdulillah, no. That's why I left London. Man, the commuting ... Once again, thanks for the wishes. Jazak Allah Khair |
