| RIYADH - His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, has been awarded the 2001 King Faisal International Award for Services of Islam. The announcement was made here yesterday by Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Arabia's Second Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence and Aviation, who is also the chairman of the award's selecting committee. Addressing a Press conference, Prince Sultan said that the committee had decided to give this year's award to Dr Shaikh Sultan in recognition of his contributions and service to Islam both inside his country and abroad. - Wam |
