Role of world Muslim leaders slated Muslim hard-liners of the country have slated the role of the leaders of the Muslim World on Anglo-US attack on Afghanistan. They said, they acted as if they all (leaders of the Muslim World) had been under US command. Addressing a rally under the banner of Anglo-American Attack on Afghanistan Resistance Committee at the North Gate of Baitul Mukarram mosque after juma prayers yesterday, they urged the Muslims all over the world to discontinue their support for those ‘puppet’ leaders under whom the interest of the Muslim countries is not safe. "Those Muslim leaders who joined the iftar party offered by Bush are not among us Muslims. They are Qaffirs (non-believers). Wage a tough movement against them everywhere," they said. Denouncing the effort to form a broad-based multi-ethnic government in Afghanistan by the US led International Coalition, they said, that would be a perfect puppet government by which ‘imperialist’ America would plunder mineral resources of the region. The rally over, they brought out a procession which, after parading different city streets, reached in front of the National Press Club and held another brief rally there. Protesters attending at the rally chanted slogans against imperialism and America. Earlier, Maulana Obaidul Haq, Imam of the Baitul Mukarram masjid, the national mosque, in his sermon during juma prayers called upon the Muslims to purify themselves through fasting. Talking of the Muslim Militia around the world, he said that they would be rewarded if they stayed on the path of justice though they were being defeated somewhere or are even dying. He also prayed for those fighters who were in the battle fields across the world. Source: Independent-Bangladesh |
