Question about fasting [I feel cold when I'm fasting!]

I am a new Muslim so this is my first year to fast.  I have
been very cold.  I am cold all the time even when everyone around me is hot.  This just started a little over a week ago.  The only new thing is that I have been fasting.  Has anyone else experienced this?  Does it have to do with fasting?

slm,

I get cold very easily by nature but it does intensify with fasting.I think it has to do with the sugar level in the blood dropping and if i'm really hungry i start shivering and shaking.

So yeah it could be that fasting is affecting you in a similar manner. But to be on the safe side you might want to consult your doctor specially if you haven't experienced something like this before.

Yes I get very cold when I'm fasting too.  It has something to do with the fact that your body doesn't have all the calories it normally has to keep it warm. It also has to work extra hard to keep warm, and for that reason you also get even hungrier when it's cold.

Yeah, I have been feeling so cold as well, I have to wear a jacket these days.  The weather has become really cold here as well.  In the mornings its in the low 50s, brrrrr, that's cold, but during the day it warms up to the low 70s.  There were 1 or 2 days of rain.  Even though yesterday might have been in the mid 70s, I still wore my jacket, and felt nice and warm. :)

I get really tired when fasting. By the time Iftar comes all I want to do is curl up and go to sleep.
It's because I have low blood pressure. Usually I keep it in tick with coffee and some drops from the doctor, but if not then I get really lethargic and sleepy.
It's so annoying to be sitting in class and not being able to keep your eyes open, even though you had enough sleep the night before!

As salamu alaykum

I definitely know what you mean Eleanor.  I get sleepy and cold.  In Ramadan I do best when I'm working (something active). If I'm at home the day does not amount to much, because I'm so tired and can't get anything done.  Have you tried taking a nap in the afternoon?

Yeah Ukhti, normally if hubby is working I go to bed after Iftar and nap for an hour or two. If he's at home then we just laze around together, watching TV or reading and usually I doze off anyway. Ramadan is only half over, if even so I'll have to see how it goes.
Alhamdulillah it gets easier every day.
