its a nicely balanced struggle to understand and check each other when we "cross" lines"...
I personally like balance:):):) :-)
let's hear all opinions and simmer the issues to a nice logical conclusion and a sweet strategy to move forward with Hikmah :-)

As salamu alaykum Barraa,

Sometimes we post in Ikhwan Health Club too.  As long as we all respect Islamic adab it is interesting to hear other brothers' and sisters' opinions.

As salamu alaykum Barraa,

To be honest most times I never write anything personal that a brother cannot read.  If I do feel that urge I belong to 2 sisters only yahoo groups and I could post my question or comment there instead.
Even if brothers did not post that would not mean that they are not reading the thread. Look at it this way by the time these brothers get married they should be perfect husbands because they understand the female mind after reading all of our posts.

Makes sense:):):)
We have to check the way we express ourselves in the first place right? And that IS the best way to move forward...
Coolness:-)

I'm not sure how many of you ladies will roll your eyes at this but  :)

Maybe it isn't so bad brothers reading and visiting this cafe. Maybe something we share or express will help them better understand their wives, sister, mothers and so on. Who knows we may be helping  :)

OK OK stop rolling your eyes  :) You're reading words from a lady who was the only female in her family in years. I have male cousins and a brother and I only gave birth to sons. I was the only daughter, the only niece and the only Granddaughter. So I tend to give males the benefit of the doubt :)

slm,
I think I read a thread about this already, but I can't seem to find it.  If anyone knows what happened to it, could you please post the link?

Personally, I don't think that the fact that many brothers read our posts here is a problem -- after all, it is the internet and anyone with a computer could potentially read our posts.  We really shouldn't be saying anything of which we would be ashamed if they overhear it.  If it is a really embarrassing post, we can always use the Anonymous posting link.

Besides, the prophet himself [saw] answered questions about women's personal problems, so I think that the brothers' contribution to this folder can be beneficial to us even in such matters as long as they answer with knowledge and adab.

As 'A'isha (raa) reported:

Asma (daughter of Shakal) asked the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) about washing after menstruation. He said: Everyone amongst you should use water (mixed with the leaves of) the lote-tree and cleanse herself well, and then pour water on her head and rub it vigorously till it reaches the roots of the hair. Then she should pour water on it. Afterwards she should take a piece of cotton smeared with musk and cleanse herself with it. Asma' said: How should she cleanse herself with the help of that? Upon this he (the Apostle of Allah) observed: Praise be to Allah, she should cleanse herself. 'A'isha said in a subdued tone that she should apply it to the trace of blood. She (Asma) then further asked about bathing after sexual intercourse. He (the Holy Prophet) said: She should take water and cleanse herself well or complete the ablution and then (pour water) on her head and rub it till it reaches the roots of the hair (of her) head and then pour water on her. 'A'isha said: How good are the women of Ansar (helpers) that their shyness does not prevent them from learning religion.

Assalamu Alaikum waRahmatullahi waBaraktuHu,

The Cafe is meant for sisters only, but everyone is welcome. The Health Club is meant for brothers only but a lot of sisters post replies or other articles there also. So, it's all good Alhamdulillah :)

Hello. this is the moderator for this forum. let me try to put an end to this conversation ;)

This cafe is for women primarily but men can join in as well. we discuss women topics here with input from the brothers.

and same thing goes for the brother's health club. i hope that clears it up. And no, we are not going to make it only women and only men folders.

I think you do, but in more subtle ways...

I will post a thread to ask questions about men from sisters Insha'Allah.

Sisters say, the health club is empty, so obviously the men don't think abou things...

lol

It's just that many of us brothers don't feel the need to post our feelings on chats... simple

me personally, I am the girl-chat type lol

I can talk till my tongue falls off, many sisters get annoyed lol

Alhumdulillah

not many people pick up on my tradition, but it is a must for ANYTHING I type...

it's symbolic to me,

like

my name, pause (let it soak in), the end.

lol ok i'm blabbing on about myself. astag'ferlah. aslaamu alaikum. abdullah,.

It's the internet!! You can't make it private. Well, I guess we could have a password protected sort of thing or something but then we wouldn't have anoymous posts.

ok. :) How about I lock this thread? It's annoying me. Sorry, no offense. can we move on. Thanks.
