How much can you bench press?

Assalaamu-alaikum Guys

I just wanted to know how much you bro's can benchpress. And how long it took you to reach that weight. I'm referring to the most weight you can lift for one rep only.

My personal best is 110kg. It took me 4 years to reach this target.

DO any sisters in here lift weights? I'm not referring to them heavy eye liner pens, i mean real weights, those that you use to workout.

Assalamo elikuim

Yes, I lift 42lbs and 55lbs many times a day everyday. Sometimes together! The force with which they try to run away makes it more difficult!

I lift weights for an hour three times a week...nothing huge, just enough to keep the muscles firm.

asalamu alaikum,

hey Bro mujaahid, I'm impressed!  110kg is waay up there!

wow sisters, I'm impressed as well!

tq, MashaAllah Sis, that is really cute.  What are their names?

Bro Hanif, nice routine...but what about the lower body?

I'm a part-timer at the gym...which means I start going regularly then stop going for ages, then start going again.  I haven't tried a maximum with just one rep...but I got up to 60kg for 8 reps at one stage.

okay keep up the good work!

WHOA!!:o  Arshad, 45-50kg is A LOT to curl...only the BIG muscly guys at the gym....ya know the ones- they spend hours and hours at the gym and only drink protein shakes and eat chicken breast or fish... only they seem to be curling that much.

Maybe you've got it wrong or there's something different about your technique or you only drink protein shakes and eat chicken breast or fish!

40-50kg is a lot, but i have seen many guys lift such weights, even the skinny guys. A bro, 9.5 stone, can curl 45kg for 8 reps! and he can bench 80kg!!!And he's a skinny little guy, but tough fighter!

Another bro, 10.5 stone, can bech, and this is truly shocking.... 145kg! When i heard him tell me, i thought it was bull! Then he said he'd prove it, so once i went to a gym and few pumped our 6 reps with 145kgs on the bar! My mouth dropped open! I was shocked!

Size and strengh are not reltated. Size training, and stregnth training are different.

To build big muscle, you need to use meduim weight, and do about 8 to 12 reps. However this will not build great strenght.

To build strengh, you only do 2 to 4 reps with heavy weights, i mean really heavy. However this is not enoug reps to build muscle. SO you CAN be extremely strong without having big muscle!

BroHaniff, you gota start lowering the reps, and using more weights. Stay below 6 reps, and slowly, build up your benchpress. AND your curls, i wanna hear you tell me in a couple of months time that your benching 80kg's and curling 35-40kg!

Remember to be a mujaahid, you gota be tough, and to be tough, you must have good stamina, and freaky stregnh, with the huge muscles as they make you   S - L - O - W

The most I have seen people curl at the gym is 120 pounds which is 55 kgs.  The curling came natural for me, i typically do 3 sets of 10 or 12, and then my arms get tired so i decrease the weight some and do 3 more sets.

I haven't really worked on my chest cause I have heard of people getting heart problems and I was scared of that.
