Ext - Beavis and Butthead are riding their bikes down the street, armed with cap guns.

Butthead: I'm mad Beavis!
Beavis: Yeah, me too. Mad! Mad! Maaaaaaaaaaaddddd!! ... ummm ... what are we mad at Butthead.
Butthead: The dirty Ay-rabs Beavis. They killed innocent people and stuff.
Beavis: Oh yeah, that. That sucks. We Americans never kill innocent people. Butthead: That's right. Those Iraqi and Serbian babies were all evil.
Beavis: Evil! Evil I tell you! Evvviiiillll!!!
Butthead: Cut it out buttmunch. Hey check it out! A mussslim dude! let's kick his *bleep* ! (They approach a man in a turban and begin kicking him ineffectually)
Turban Man (more confused than concerned): What are you idiots doing?
Butthead: We're kicking your *bleep* terrorist dude!
Beavis: Yeah, you're a muslim and you suck. Muslims killed Jesus. Or something.
Turban Man: I'm a Sikh.
Butthead: Yeah, you're sick! And you killed all those innocent stock brokers, so we're kicking your *bleep* ! (Turban man walks away, shaking his head)
Beavis: You can run but you can't hide Saddam bin Laden!! What a wussy.
Butthead (looking across street): Check it out - it's a ... ummm ... muslim church place. Lets burn it down.
Beavis (eyes bright): Fire! Fire! Fire!!! Butthead: Calm down dude.

EXT - outside building
Butthead (stricking matches): These matches suck!
Beavis: I think they were made in Afghanistan. Damn commies! (Robed man approaches)
Beavis: Look out - it's Osama Hussein. Butthead: We surrender Ayatollah!
Robed Man: What are you kids doing.
Beavis: Burning your mosque for your cowardly frontal attack on the Pentagon - our sacred building.
Robed Man: This is a Greek Orthodox Church you morons. Now go away.
EXT - Beavis and Butthead are riding home. Butthead: We kicked their *bleep*!
Beavis: Yeah, they won't aid the Nazis any more. Both: USA! USA! USA!
God Bless America - Home of the Clueless, land of the heavily armed inarticulate

ahh Bevis and Butthead, another production of the great land of America.. following on the heels of Ren and Stimpy, featuring our favourite hero POWDERED TOAST MAN! Then there's South Park with the infamous Mr Hankie the Christas Poo!  Now where would the world be if it wasn't for America, not only making these great intellectual masterpieces, but also having the mentallity to make them popular.

But really are there people who are that ignorant in US?

asalaamu alaikum,

If you over analyse, like me,

then we shouldn't be *pondering* about why we do-

we are only further analysing things lol

Ahmed:

Yes, some people are that ignorant... just like people on the other side of the world are sometimes no knowing either, but of course this cartoon is needlessly hateful. astag'ferlah. asalaamu alaikum. abdullah,.

yeah Bro Abdullah, we perceive it as stupid, but these things become popular because kids think they're cool and want to be just like them.  Maybe because they think they're imitating a cartoon, kids can justify behaviour that goes beyond the bounds of social norms but as more people get used to this behaviour the bounds shift to gradually accept them.  In this way these kinda programmes push the bounds further and further away from righteousness and towards fitnah until fitnah is the norm and rightousness is outside of the norm.

hmm its afternoon, my mind is wandering again...can someone let me know if I'm making any sense?

Of course it makes a lot of sense. Subhana Allah it continously amazes how much madness can be sifted into our essences without even us realizing it.
May Allah progress us into the realm of higher heights (Amin).

Come on, that wasn't funny?  :)

Anyways, funnier joke (as heard by my sister, I missed it)-

Ashcroft's (or someone) reply to whether or not the government would publish the names of the 5,000 "foreign Muslim men" to be questioned:
"That would be a threat to their civil liberties" (or something).

What a joker.

Y'all are cute.
I guess the point is not to let the stress they portray seep into our essences.
Makes sense.
Gotta go pray now:):):):):)

Yeah, Sofia that was a funny one.  I feel like we are back in the McCarthy era.  I just wonder when it will be over and how bad the damage will be.

Am I to old fashioned??? I never let my sons (when they were growing up) watch things like Beavis and Butthead and such. Their music, movies and Tv were limited, monitored and screened. They felt so deprived to but ... Oh Well :)

I don't mean to offend but I did not find this funny.

Everytime I read or see something like this it makes me so sad and so angry and I pray that others in other countries don't judge all Americans by this.

Sis Cara, I'm sorry if I upset you.  Of course not all Americans can be judged by the actions of a few...and its sad that so few have so much power to corrupt minds, while the majority are powerless.

But wow! think about how much potential there is for Islam in America :)  The ONE solution to solve all the problems.

and Allah knows best.

No, sister.. U don't offend.. well, to me, at least.. for I don't find it funny, either.

If the tables were turned around, and a joke was made up of some ignorant Muslims instead of Beavis and Butthead on issues like circumcision, hijab and hudud... I don't think many of us would find it funny too.

Let's be fair....

A reminder to myself first

As salamu alaykum

Beavis and Butthead always seemed to be more of a male thing in this country.  Even my sister, who is as liberal as they come, never liked them.  They were too degrading to women.

I'm so glad I didn't offend anyone and looks like you all understand. I guess I am kind of sensative about things like this. You see I went in the Islam chat room in Yahoo often before Sept 11 th. I met many very nice Muslims, made friends  and was learning a lot. But since     Sept 11 th it seems like the worst example of my country is in the Islamic chat room trying to cause hatred and are just being plain rude and mean.

One night I was sooooo offended and angry at my fellow non Muslim countrymen I actually typed in the chat room,  "For all the Muslims in the room please do not judge my country on the few in this room trying to be mean and being hateful. We are not all this way. We are not all filled with such hatred"  Many responded to be and thanked me for my comment.

I may not be a Muslim but NO ONE better put one down in my presence. Nor any other culture or religon. OK :) I'm getting off my soap box  :)

I can't seem to get enough of this web site jannah. All of you are so kind and so sweet  :)
