Freedom:
We are but borrowed vessels of creation,
This time and space is nothing less than  probation,
Prisoners of the bodies we reside in,
We are held captive by our own sins,
Freedom comes when we realize
Our eyes are worth more than just seeing
Our hands more than just eating
Our feet more than just moving
Our souls more than just being
Freedom comes with total control
Of the mind, body, actions and soul,
Freedom comes when are fully aligned
And eternity becomes our only concept of time.
When we have no more empty rhymes
When wisdom redefines the rhetoric
Of the mind,
And love is our only reason to be kind,
When truth reigns
And justice has no reason to be blind,
When oppression is nothing more than history defined,
And children have mothers to keep them in line,
When creation is cherished
And the earth gives out a sigh
When we can look at each others eyes
When we stop wondering why
And let our actions define
Freedom is far from an empty cry.

I love coming online to be able to read your poems Maliha! I was just takling to one of my friends about how you have such good posts and really strike a chord in not only me, but in many others too. This poem, for me,really reminds me of what we, and each part of us were really created for, and I think everyone needs that form time to time. my favorite line is
              "Freedom comes with total control
Of the mind, body, actions and soul,
Freedom comes when are fully aligned
And eternity becomes our only concept of time."
alright, keep posting!

Jazakumu Allahu Khayran:):):):)
positive energy definitely feeds on each other:)
I get my creative streak when i can come here and see what people actually truely think..am I outta line??? (sometimes I am:) ) but its okay, cuz next time I "paint"/ "write", I *try* to analyze more critically what I want to say and *how*....
It is such an exciting process;):):):):)

I know how it is wondering and anylizing what you want to say. I used to paint a lot, and I questioned whether I got my idea or feeling across to people, and also before hand, how I should express it. I guess, you just use the moment, the way you feel about something and go with it, and then, let people interpret it the way they want (hopefully it will allow people to identify something within themselves), because everyones experiences are different. Anyway..just felt like I was blabbing on there, but just something I remebered from my painting days.. and at least to me, you weren't out of line, most made sense and fit together..
ok, I need to sleep (don't know if any of this made sense..)

I know exactly what you are talking about :-) but we'll be discussing the age old adage of the "struggling artists" concept. Its hard when you are an abstract thinker. When you go against the norm. When you challenge the acceptable...and think...why??? Why do I have to be the one discontent when "they" are simply chilling and lounging around:):):) silly right??? The discontent broods until I have either a way to express it, or simply release it in another way....human life process huh???
talk about blabbling...i think you may have found a blabber here too:):):)
well, i don't want to dominate this conversation...

Peace.
