Faith appeared smiling at the battlefield!

Badr, which falls on Ramadan 17th, is unparalleled in the history. This was the greatest battle in the clash between truth and falsehood.

As the Prophet  drew the plan of the battle, he dearly instructed his companions about each of their positions: ‘You should stand there, the other should stand here, another one should carry the flag…". Badr is going to witness the historic battle that changed the landscape of the entire world.

The previous night, the Prophet is spending his sleepless nights in prayer and supplication. O Allah! Should this group of believers be defeated today, you will no longer be worshipped". Tears continued to roll down his cheek; he continued weeping and praying to Allah.

The participants of Badr are the inhabitants of paradise. The martyrs of Badr are flying around like birds in the heaven.

They are ready to fight the thousand-member army, almost three times their number. They are an inexperienced group who is hardly possession of any transport. "O Allah! Should this group of believers be defeated today, you will no longer be worshipped".

An Urdu poet has described the march of Ashaab-ul-Badriyeen (the members of Badr): they are marching barefoot on the burning sands of the fiery desert. Their feet have become swollen after walking on the flaming sands. To think of Ashaab-ul-Badriyeen is equivalent of reflecting on the foundation of our faith. They are the one who established the Tawhid (Oneness of Allah), they are the ones who saved the female who was buried alive, they made firm the institution of Zakat, they are the ones who supported the revolutionary Hero of Arabia (saws), … they are the biggest treasure of this Ummah.

But Badr is not over with a mere four-letter word. It was fought by a group well rooted in faith. It was not a mere casual meaningless fight. The believers were persecuted mercilessly for their belief in the One Almighty. They were humiliated, tortured and killed. Badr was the permission finally given as a self-defense. Badr is not the call for violence or trouble. Badr was not attacking the enemy first. The Muslims were denied the right to life. Their bread was snatched. They were boycotted. They were expelled from their homes. For days and months, the Holy Prophet (saws) had to live on the leaves of trees. Bilal, the black Negro who belonged to the slave class, was made to roll bare-bodied on the hot burning sand. Yet the Negro kept saying ‘Ahad, Ahad, Allahu Ahad’ (One, One, Allah is One)

After patiently bearing all these sufferings, Badr was the final relief for the believers.

Badr is coming! Badr that witnessed the strategic moves of Hamza (ra), the lightening speed of Abu Bakr (ra), the valor of Umar (ra), the chivalry of Ali bin Abi Talib, the Lion of Allah and definitely Badr which witnessed the Adorable Face that shone as a Full Moon even at the battlefield.

My dear Muslims! Do not forget Ashaab-ul-Badriyeen! Keep in mind the blood shed by the martyrs of Ashaab-ul-Badriyeen. Its is from those precious blood drops that the present flower of Islam has bloomed.

May Allah bless the members of Badr and assemble us, along with them, in the paradise.

Aameen!
