Mysterious!

Assalamu 'Alaikum,

Folks, brothers and sisters, I was just wondering last night that since there are so many people on this board (around 360), many of us may have had or still have something mysterious in our lives, or may be if not mysterious, then, maybe something that we have remained curious  about something for long, or are still curious to this date about it. So, share any incident/event/person/interaction with someone that has been mysterious to u or u have been curious about it for long or are still curious.
I, personally, dont have any particular incident/event/person, mysterious/of curiosity in my life to share with u all, but, infact, on the contrary, I have been playing some role in doing mysterious /curious things in other's lives, and they still dont know who that person was who spoke to me on phone/chat/instant messenger and knew so much about me, or how did he know me, etc. etc.

[BTW, please, share any name but not Br. Abu Khalid,............and I am begging u all for that!. I know that he may be the most mysterious personality on this board but we 'know' that now, and so , please, share anything other than him, if u intend to do so. No offense please, Br. Abu Khalid and rest of all others who read this:)].

Wassalam.

Hmm, seems like everyone has pretty normal lives...
to me mysterious things are stuff like dreams coming true, people seeing or feeling jinn, things like that.  I haven't experienced any of it!!!
Oh wait; I just thought of something:
When I was a student at Monterey Penninsula College for a semester, I rented a room in this old lady's house.  She was not Muslim, she was a Unitarian.  Anyway, this old lady had a lot of other tenants who'd hang out with her and stuff.  Me, I just stayed in my room most of the time when I didn't have class.  I'd listen to Qur'an and stuff.
Anyway, at one point she got tired of me not hanging out with her, and she told me that most people socialized with her and helped out (I didn't use the kitchen or anything so why should I help out?).  I told her I was just there to rent a room, and she told me if all I wanted to do was stay in my room and pray, then I could find another place to live.
So, I moved out, but she didn't give me my deposit back. One day I went back for my deposit, and there were some TV peopl there wanting to talk to her.  She gave me my money back and was in a hurry to get everyone out.
I went home, and I was watching the news, and I found out that SHE'D RENTED THE ROOM I'D VACATED TO A FORMER CHILD MOLESTER!!!!!!!  The whole neighborhood had to know about it because of some law or other.  This woman started getting DEATH THREATS from her neighbors; and she was all standing up for the guy and letting him stay there.
Anyway, it was one of the most amazing things that ever happend to me, it was like Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala had avenged me personally, not that I deserved it but that's how I felt :-)
And after I moved out I found this woman who wanted to share a beautiful apartment that had a view of the ocean :-)
Sorry this is so long.

Mariam that was an amazing story!!!! Subhana Allah:) i would have the same feeling toooooo :):):)

The world of the unknown has always fascinated me...
when i was young i heard my great grandmother was in "touch" with jinns...that rooted me to the concept...i was extremely curious about them. so when a leaf rustled (and we lived near the ocean...so you know how that goes:):):) ) my imagination would run wild:) growing up i always thought i'd seen a lot...and back home i saw my cousin "possessed"...i still don't know much about it.
The mysterious world fascinates me still...but now i am shifting lenses to focus on spiritual enlightment and growth...
I have had disturbances in sleep etc...Its soooo hard to know though the difference btw "jinns" and imagination knowing how diametrically opposite the "east" and "west" are on these issues...???

oh yeah..as far as the board...I came in with a totally *mystical* and *dreamy* view of life...surreal...so for me, it was mostly "connecting" the dots...every personality is intriguing to me...as much as i enjoy learning, i looooveee to get to know the people i am sharing with...so its a fun process...and Inshaallah He will make it easier as we go along:):):) :-)

Tuaseef, you shouldn't play tricks on others!!!! That's mean!!!!!!!! isn't that haram too???

Assalamu 'Alaikum,
Tuaseef, you shouldn't play tricks on others!!!! That's mean!!!!!!!! isn't that haram too
Take it easy sister, I am not David copperfield that I would play tricks on others...:) what I have always done for others and never disclosed it was in good terms ( not to harm somebody or distress someone) and InshaAllah my intentions  will remain the same in future also. Btw, that was good labelling from mean to haram....:), Never mind.
Sometimes there are certain situations that are out of limits of one's understanding but they do happen to u frequently. Like, I remember, a few years back in Karachi, five of us (me and my 4 friends) were driving on a highway and suddenly all of them shouted when they saw a meteorite high in the sky. Now, even the driver saw that but I was the only dumb person to  miss it. Why? Dont know! Then, there are situations, when we all are watching X-files, and I am the only one who is not only noticing the time differences (that they usually show in X-files' episodes) but also calculating it and then sub-consciously commenting  on it, "Unbelievable, man, Mulder reached there in 44 minutes." And then my friends would give me weird looks, look at each other and then start making fun of me. In another situation, we are 19 friends and we had dinner in a restaurant, the waiter served us real good food,  we all are very happy by his service and we pay him  a handsome tip. Now its been 2 hours and we all are sitting at one of  friend's place  and someone says," Man, we forgot to ask that waiter's name, should have asked it (so that next time whenever we go again, we make sure that the same waiter serves us)." And then I would say," Yeah, his name was Murtaza."  Everybody is quiet for a while, staring at me and then I hear all kinds of jokes on my such observation. I dont understand, why do these kind of weird things happen to me only(atleast in my friends' circle) but with time I have made a belief of my own that Allah(swt) makes u see what others may not see and Allah(swt) may also make u not see something what all others  may see. Wallahu 'Alam. Observation is never purposeless as I believe (contrary to what my friends say about my observation).
to me mysterious things are stuff like dreams coming true, people seeing or feeling jinn, things like that.
U may not believe it but I have felt the presence of jinn also. Worst nightmare of my life!.6th of August, 1996, It was around 4:50 in the morning when I woke up from deep sleep. Electricity ran out of whole area( Its very common in Karachi since there is not as much production of electricity as people utilize it, its commonly called loadshedding there, so it was a mere co-incident). For ten minutes I was totally motionless, couldn't speak, couldn't get up, phone was right beside me but couldn't move my fingers and hands to pick up the reciever and dial the number to call somebody for help. The only part of my body that was movable were my 2 eyeballs that I could move to and fro. All senses were working properly because I could see the clock ticking and could even hear it, and for conmplete ten minutes, I watched the clock moving, lying motionless and helpless. I was more than 100% sure that someone other than me was present in my room  and its presence was the worst feeling. I was a 2nd year medical student then, and didn't know of any medical explanations then, but 3 years later when I was a final year medical student, I read a scientific explanation of such a situation. According to that explanation, if someone sleeps tilted towards left side for long (maybe like 2,3 hours) , the heart(being on left side of the chest)comes under the pressure of other organs in the chest and this may cause it to pump the blood slower than usual. When blood pumping decreases, blood supply to various parts of the body decreases, and this can cause the whole body to go into transitional paralysis. Amazingly, when I recalled the whole incident after reading this explanation, I remembered that infact I really had slept on my left side that night, and the moment I woke up from deep sleep, I changed my posture and laid flat facing the ceiling and then that whole sequence of events took place that the electricity ran out etc. etc. Last, but not the least, I later 'heard' the hadeeth that Prophet Muhammad (saw) used to sleep on his right side of the body with his face resting on his hand, and that he(saw) also recommended to sleep facing towards Ka'abah (not sure which one is recommended more, since direction of Ka'abah will vary with different places). Anyhow, I have the scientific explanation, I have the religious explanation as well, but I am still convinced(by my feelings) that SOMEONE other than me was definitely present in my room that night although the paralysis thing may have happened due to the medical reasoning! The knowledge of human being is so limited whereas His (swt) is the knowledge that has no limits (Subhan Allah).
Ever since I reverted back to Islam(Alahmdulillah) after performing 'Umrah in 1998, the first words of Qur'an that impressed me the most was this part of aayah "Wallahu Ya'lamu wa antum la ta'lamun" (And Allah knows(the best) and u know nothing) and for some reason I like reading it again and again.

Wassalam.

As Salamu Alaika,

Yeah, some pretty wacky stuff has happened to me.

I think that I have been able to see jinni for much of my life.  I perceive them to be like waves in the air, like heat rising from a hot object, but in the shape of a person.  They flash by in the corner of my eyes, and even at times when explaining them to other people, sometimes they have appeared to them as well- for the first time for them!  Many times I feel the presences you speak about, when you are sure that someone or something else is in the room with you.  Or I catch a shadow quickly turning the corner.  Nothing to be worried about though, as jinn and who knows what else has been created and explained.  We have to learn to live with them, as I am sure they with us.  Other times I can feel waves of emotion come over me, that are completely foreign and unexplainable, and I am sure that they are not my own, and that helps me to keep strict discipline over tendencies to be upset or peeved by little things.  The explanation and protection from jinn is some of what led me to the fold of al-Islam, as no other deen is so complete as to accurately and effectively treat the subject.

One time, my college roomates and I were having fun throwing a tennis ball around the room.  We decided to have a go at trying to throw it as hard as possible, bouncing it off of as many corners and objects as possible, and hoping that it lands close to someone so we would not have to get up.  Well, I took a toss, and the ball seemed to go in slow motion, as we all watched it bounce about10 times off of corners and objects all around the room, and then finally to land right back in my hand- We were  all amazed.

I have also been known to grab falling glasses  in mid air with all of the liquid still present.

I used to be able to tell people about things that happened to them without any prodding.  I just get this feeling that I could answer any question, and that I feel like I know a lot more than I normally do.  I once told this guy that I could tell him something without asking any questions.  I told him that he had his wallet stolen, then I told him the exact day it happened two weeks earlier.  The same day I told another girl that she had gotten into a car accident, and also the day that it occurred.  And no I did not steal his wallet or crash her car.

I don't know if you consider any of those things mysterious or even if they were what you were talking about but, anyway......

Oh yeah, when I was a boy.  My friends and I were causing some trouble and our usual escape routes were through the backyards and gangways of the neighborhood.  Anyway, my brother and I jumped into one yard, and the others in yards adjacent.  To my surprise we selected one with a dog in it.  I never had time to open the gate, so I jumped over it.  It was as tall as me!  I still go back to that place and look at the gate, and I do not think I could jump over it today, maybe unless being chased.

There are many more incidents.  I guess I have had my share.

I enjoyed reading the other messages, shookran.

Regards,

Qamar A. Kaan

Like this?:o :o :o Something/somebody amazing, shocking must be there........Did u ever ask them, why did they do it. Maybe it was because of ur so impressive personality,.......and u know just out of too much amazement, they had their eyes wide open even while asleep! :)

That's funny man, that's not mysterious. U know weird people! Keep away from them or atleast ask them to keep away from u. :) Such acrobatic acts can affect ur personality, because there are chances u may catch them.

WOW!!!!! I am soooo excited other people have jinn stories to share!!!!!! I have had that same "semi paralysis" experience you talked about..and the medical explanation sounds rational...also the Prophet [saw] did say you should lie on your right side so that makes logical sense...I have heard footsteps, had my feet "pulled", seen something outta the corner of my eye...the shadows etc, i leave to my imagination's realm. But you are right about being unique and the reason Allah created us that way...Subhana Allah:):):):)

i have a mysterious story...but actually, it's my mom's mysterious story and she told me and my sisters.. but umm yeah... i'll post it later on cause i'm not in the mood... but it's a pretty weird story...

eh, what the heck? i'll give a brief thingy now..

see, my nanima...err, what is that in english? mom's mother--ooooh GRANDMA! okay, my grandmother had passed away summer 2000 *Allah Yarhamha* so my mom went to the qabrstaan...aaah, guys, i'm soo sorry, i am soo used to saying these words in punjabi/urdu that i don't know what they are in english...you know the grave place? so my mom went there to see my nanima...

so then my mom said that there were two teens there and she waited for them to go, so she could go...and then they left, so my mom looked around and saw no one...

and then out of nowhere, this lady appears and my mom said she kinda looked like my nanima and she came out of nowhere.. and she nodded her head or something to my mom and then... my mom went to make dua'a and she said that when she looked up like literally one min later, the lady was gone..and the qabrstaan isn't that big, it wouldn't have been hard to see where she was or anything....hmmmmmm....okee, this story doesn't sound as mysterious as it did when my mom was telling me it!! i guess you just have to hear me saying it.. too bad you guys can't :D

but yeah, it was really weird when my mom was telling me it...

but yeah, i know many weird stories...but plz no jinn stories, that's some freaky stuff!

and brother arsalan- there are MANY people who sleep with their eyes open :)

oh well...mysterious stuff are just mysterious...let's just leave it at that, hehe

but you know, i went to this lecture today from the islamic medical association at my university and this one sister came and was telling us how she 'heals' people who have diseases with her hands...like she said it was a gift from Allah and that she uses herbs and natural stuff to cure people and accu-pressure (sp) and stuff like that... okee i'm giving a weird summary...the whole pt is that she was describing how the medicine given these days are all chemical and arent' working on our body...she says that she touches people and finds out what's wrong with them with her hands and can figure out what's wrong..and then she tells them what to do...like she releases some of the emotions within them through massages in their feet...or tell them what stuff to eat, or things like that and that EVERY person who came to her got healed or cured...ppl who had cancer, diabetes, heat problems, asthma, kidney problems..anything and everything...and they got healed because she didn't use chemicals and kept the body Allah gave us naturally...

ummmmm, this type of thing she does is called something, oh yeah, wholisitic medicine!

but that was kinda weird...i never really heard of anything about that before...

anywho, off i go...take care everyone

Assalamu'alaikum,

This happened just a few days ago....

I was just minding my own business, relaxin' and chillin', walking to the kitchen to have my sahur.... suddenly,

I saw a CAT! and he ran away as I turned my back and shouted "Ibu (mommy in Malay)! There's a cat in the kitchen!"

And we were so shocked! Coz, the thing is.. we do have birds coming into our kitchen, but cats? I mean.. how would cats enter our house when it's on the 4th floor?

So, my mom asked,"Are you SURE it's a cat? What does it look like, what colour? Is it all black?"

So, I answered her.. and I said.. I'm SURE its a cat

And she said .. yeah IF its a cat.

So, we called my brother to have a look, but, he can't find the cat.

And I thought that maybe, my eyes were playing tricks on me... I can be very zombie-ish that early in the morning, but I've just taken my wudhu and was fresh before the sighting...

And my brother asked.. r U sure it's a cat.. IF it's a cat?

And I'm like yes!

So, the cat disappeared, can't find him till now... well, IF it's a cat!

Allahua'lam :-)

I've experienced that paralysis phenomenon just a few months ago. And I have to say it isn't a nice experience and wouldn't wish it upon anyone. All I remember is some sort of physical 'force' holding my body down, preventing me from moving. I was awake, yet still a little drowsy having just opened my eyes from sleep, but can confidently say I was aware of what was going on. I was lying flat with my head slightly tilted to the left. My whole body was in shock, shaking and sweating and all I could do was to recite the shahadah and surah ikhas one after another to scare off whatever 'it' was, if indeed there was anything at all.
No doubt oje of the nastiest experiences of my life :o

I also had an similarexperience of pressure on my body, from about chest down. I first heard and felt the part of my bed that faces the door give and the sheets slightly crinkle before this. I got out of bed and I didn't feel like that anymore, then I went back to bed same thing happened, got out and finally the pressure was gone and I could go to sleep. I'm not sure I WANT to know what was going on...

Bismillah and salam,

I have had many experiences I would consider super natural.  Once we were in a car in a highway in deserted part and all five of us saw a darkness like a black bag envelope the car of a second or so.

My granma used to have an angel (we used to think it was jin but then as i studied more i realized that there is no such thing by the prophet but he did say that an angel is entrusted us when we sleep if we do our athkar and everything) that would wake her up for subh prayer masha'Allah. It woke her up to see the noor of laylat alqadr one year masha'Allah and alhemdulilah.

Me and my sister had a connection that lasted up until a few years ago whenever one of us got hurt badly the other would know it and call.

The most amazing thing masha'Allah is the result for my istikhara prayer for marrying my husband. Among *many* signs we got, alhemdulilah, was that each night I went to the mosque I would do istikhara and then sit and read Quran until they are ready to pray. And subhan'Allah my husband leading the prayer would read the same verses I was reading from earlier. It still gives me goosebumps. Masha'Allah!

Two weeks ago me and husband get into the car and we say our athkar, then out of nowhere I asked him to slow down i just said there are lots of road kill these days and then after he did we see a dear furhter down that was hesitant in the dark about crossing the street. Sub7an'Allah.

A most recent mysterious one of Allah's blessings just happened to a best friend of mine here she was saying that we are poor because there are no good dates in this town and the prophet said a house which has no dates are poor its residetns. The good stuff here is very expensive and normally we have someone bring them from another place but not this year. The next day, we had someone give her a bag of medjool for present without knowing she said it, the next someone braught in an excellent tunisian kind for sale for very cheap to raise funds and they baught some, and the next, someone handed out boxes to all the people in the mosque and her husband was there so he got a box. I called her said next time wish for diamonds for me.

slm,
Thought I would share my own lil' story:its not exactly creepy but was interesting to us.
We used to live in Oman at that time and had been in this apartment for like 12,13 years. One day,my parents decided to change the setting of their bedroom and they moved around the furniture a little bit. Now,the first day with the new settings,my parents were sleeping and all of a sudden,my dad felt as if someone pushed him over the bed and he fell down. Now,it felt funny to us at the moment. The next day it happened again. Now,my mom is really superstitious and my dad is not.But when it happened three nights in a row,my dad was profounded!!!So,my mom went to ask this lady who had these relations with jinns etc and she told us that in a certain area of that room,we had a few nice jinns living with us but since we changed the setting of the room, they were disturbed .And we should change back to original design. So,my parents did that and Alhamdulillah,it never happened again. But it was kinda spooky to think that all these years, there was someone else living with us in the same house ,in the same room. But I guess,as far as u dont bother them, they wont mess with u either.Wa'Allahu alam.
