There is the sky, But where are the clouds? Trials make me sigh When YOUR help is not neigh. I have heard much That YOUR MERCY is such... No matter how many times My word I breach, A believer's heart YOU will never ditch Knot on knot Are tied to my heart's bolt I tried and tried But so badly I failed To untie the knot Is a task that is easy not There is the sky, But where are the clouds? Trials make me sigh When YOUR help is not neigh. So quick has gone this month That 10 (days) is left From the month That is 9th Yet... In my my ear comes a prayer Uttered by the Leader [saws] of the Battle of Badr 'O Allah! You are Forgiving' Most Forgiving indeed! 'And you Love to Forgive' You are Most Loving Indeed, 'So forgive Me!' ... a sinner I am indeed! http://www.jaihoon.com/egoptics/sky.htm [The poem is based on the dua "Allahumma innakka afuwwun wa uhibbul afuwwu fa afuwwu anni, especially recited during the last 10 days of Ramadan expecting to find the Laylathul Qadr] |
