| How to heal a broken heart? |

| Asalaamu aleykum, I am very happy and content being muslim and know i am on the right path, but how do you deal with hurts that happened in "another life"? It has nothing to do with forgiveness, but with hurt and the fear of being hurt again. Putting my faith in Allah (swt) has not taken the pain or the fear away. I want to move on with my life but i find i am shackled by the past. Any advice? Or anyone who has the same problem:( savannah |

| [slm] mmm...I am not sure what to say...cuz for me this issue is touchy too. I am getting over "past" hurts too, and you are right, I feel like I am past the forgiveness stage too, but the healing takes time. All I can tell you is what I've learnt so far.... Stay connected to Allah: pray, Ask for forgiveness, Mercy, Ask that He lightens your load, Ask that He takes away your pain...and Inshaallah He will. If you are thinking negative thoughts: Think them away by remembering Allah, the beauty of creation, glorifying Allah...anything to distract your mind of destructive thinking. Surround yourself with positive people...Even if you have to server ties with "old" acquaintances and friends who might influence you negatively. This board is an awesome place to stay "virtually" connected:):):), I love our community center/Masjid there are always cool people working on amazing projects for the community, take nature walks etc... Involve your extra time to rediscovery of Islam and purifying your own soul and Inshaallah Allah will make it easy. May Allah heal all the spiritual maladies afflicting the Ummah at large (Amin). May Allah make the path easy for you Ukhty (Amin). :-) Maliha [wlm] |

| [slm] I think every1 is hurt at some point of their life. iT may b hurt is from family probs, friend probs or other relationship, but its still hurt. I used 2 write poems to express my feelings or cry 2 my bears cuz i knew they wud never blab my hurt or pain. I found the pain disappeared within days. The past sometimes comes back to haunt, but not for long cuz life goes on. i would have sent u some of ma poems, but im at uni (poems at home)and u guys may get the wrong idea. anyways hurt wears away in time, just make dua and take care [wlm] |

| [slm] again another way of getting over hurt is forgetting it, as in keep ur mind occupied else where. I luv playing with small kids 4 that reason cuz they live in an innocent world where there is no hurt as such. Cooking, its a good distraction, esp if u r a useless cook like me, cuz im always wondering how it went wrong Shopping and internet r other distractions 4 me ok i dunno if im making sence, betta buzz take care [wlm] Nehar |
