| Asalamalaikum Does anyone know arabic on this board? I need to know what "tafweedh" and "ta'weedh" mean in english. I would be grateful for answers. JazakAllahkhair. |

| slm, Tafweed means to delegate. For example, muslims say 'uffawed amree ila Allah' meaning i delagate Allah[swt] to handle my affairs. It's very similar to the idea of Tawakkul meaning relying upon Allah[swt] while at the same time paying your dues. Ta'weedh is seeking refuge in something from another. Like saying 'Authu be Rahmat'Allahe min Ghadabeh' meaning i seek refuge in Allah's[swt] Mercy from His Wrath. Ta'weedh is not to be confused with Ta'weed which is recompense, as in 'ureedu ta'weedan le itlaafi sayyaaratee' = i want recompense for damanging my car. Wallahu A'alam |
