Asalaamu aleykum,

Are you allowed to go to the mosque for the Night of Power if you have your period? I know you cant pray of course. I guess the NOP cant be made up at another time for women who are "cursed" at that time?:(

good question- but i think that even if you can't pray the taraweeh prayers during the odd nights of the last ten days *and even nights too, but most importantly odd nights* that you should STILL go the mosque and sit in some place where you can hear the imam and follow along with him with a translation Quran...of course that's going to have to count for something, right?! i don't know if it counts the same as praying, but that's what i would do if i was in that situation...I think it's ok to go to the mosque even when you're not praying, just make sure you don't sit in the area they pray in :)

also- i guess if you can't pray, just read Quran the whollllleeeee night and make lotsa lotsa dua's :) and then ask Allah to let you pray during the last ten days next Ramadhan ;) hehe inshaAllah!

well, those were my suggestions

Take Care!

*btw, in one of these other threads, there's a sister who talks about how she can't pray and everyone gives her all these other alternatives besides praying, that should be something to check out, i'm not sure of the thread title, it has to be something within the last three days :)*

okee dokee!

eh, i've heard sooo many different beliefs on whether a person who isn't praying can hold the Quran or not...

i guess you just have to check up on that and see what you believe is right...MOST people say it's okay to hold a translation Quran, but not the normal all arabic ones, that's what i've been told and i just follow that concept :)

i don't think i was much help! but anyway, Take Care

Salam,

I know you didn't mean it literally..I guess I should've added a "^_^" to my post..

Well I'm on "holidays" as well and I went to the mosque for Taraweeh and stayed for Tahajud, anyway..just came back actually..and I am glad I went...I just love the atmosphere..

If I had stayed home I'd feel like I'm missing out...

salam,
merimda

off to sleep I go..
