*Allahumma Innakka Afuwwun Wa Tuhibbul Afuwwu Fa Afuwwu Anna*
Don’t hesitate to ask Him for He is as eager to answer you as you are to ask Him.

As Salamu Alayka,

Where is the 'HE' in the Arabic for this translation. I only see Allahuma?

Why do this to yourself?  Are you not afraid Allah SWT will ask you why you spoke as if Allah SWT was a man? Audhu billah....

The english text is NOT the translation. Only the PERSUATION to pray with the psychology implied in the Dua.

jazak Allah khair

No,

Its just that the statement in English appears to be of a Christian "PERSUASION" as opposed to the original Arabic.

I really find the Arabic statement beautiful, and do not claim to know its many levels or intricacies in meaning, but I do personally find it offensive that the persuasion implied could also be implanted by a non-Muslim to be referring to some kind of a man-God.

I am no scholar of any sciences in al-Islam, but I am afraid of having the genderization and congruence with Christianity and Judaism, that are comfortable with or even prefer the He=Jesus, or He=God, or He=Father paradigms.

I was referring to a different thread where I mentioned the He=Allah problems in the Arabic translation and usage.  It seems though that sometimes when anyone mentions a problem, other people like to increase their efforts to persist in what may be offensive, in order to "get under the skin" of others.

Maybe I perceived the title of the thread this way, as I even thought that 'HE is eager too', in the title to refer to some kind of  male/female relationship, or about marriage, so it was a bit misleading when I found it to be started off in Arabic with Allahuma and referring to Allah SWT.  And then for the jist of the message in the Arabic to mention all 'He's'.

Regards,

QAK
