meaning of the name "tasmin"

Salam, a friend of mine suggested to change my name to Tasmin when I  convert. Does anyone know what it means? dear regards Andrea

[slm] I'm not sure about Tasmin, but [i]Tasnim[/i] means 'Fountain of Paradise'. Maybe it was the spelling? Heres a nice database on muslim female names with their meanings you may wish to browse through.....:) http://www.muslim-names.co.uk/gnames.html Personally I love the names Aminah, Afareen and Huma, but not that you asked or anything ;-D

Salam, thanks a lot for your info. As you see I have choosen this name now! I think I should introduce myself: I'm 37 years old, live in Germany and work as selfemployed trade agent. I  like modern art, have a sibirian husky (yes, I'll keep the animal with me) and I'm looking for new muslim friends all over the world. Excuse me for my english, I know it is anything but perfect.
