The Dream-like Prize!

O Elegant Flame of my wax-like heart!

For a while beside me you sit.

Already I am hurt

Thinking you will soon part

To win that 'dream-like' prize

Every opportunity I am eager to seize

Like a Divine key

Unlock the secrets within me.

With the light of His Mercy

Brighten my face looking so gloomy.

My senses are scattered around

Confusion is making me go round

If with His rope, me you bound

Angels with blessings

Near you will surround.

To win that 'dream-like' prize

Every opportunity I am eager to seize

Those around are mocking me in tease

(saying)-

'This nightingale is in real craze

His madness shall never cease.

Left or right, the way he cannot choose

Poor thing! He is lost in Love's maze!'

O the warmth of my heart!

Standing in the cold

I am about to freeze

While praying,

"Ya Hayy! Ya Qayyum!

Ya Qawiyy! Ya Azeez!

To win that 'dream-like' prize

Every opportunity I am eager to seize

My confidence lies in the Cool Breeze
That I whisper all night long for the Rasool-e-Hijaz!

sallallahu alaihi wa sallam...

[- Rasool-e-Hijaz: The Prophet of Hijaz. Presently, Hijaz is the area around Makkah, the holiest place in Islam, where Ka'aba is situated. Since time immemorial, until the advent of the present ruling monarchy, the entire belt covering the whole of Saudi Arabia was known as Hijaz. This is how it was known in the traditions and historical records. The present name was given after the ruling Saud family.]
