An Arab friend of mine felt very sad when he heard some of the Afghanis telling on TV that they want the Arab Afghan out from Afghanistan and that they hate them. This was I assume when Kabul and Mazar-e-Sharif was captured.
I told him that these people are ignorant of Deen. In fact it was only and only due to these Arabic peoples' ancestors; the Taabaeen, Tabaa Taabaeen and even perhaps the noble Sahabas who left behind their families and participated in Jihad and Dawah works that we people of the subcontinent are Muslims, Alhamdolillah. Otherwise who knows what we would have been now. It was because of their sacrifices that our forefathers accepted Islam. May Allah accept us and make our life end when the appointed time comes on Khatam-al-Bil Khair. Ameen.

Quoted below is the story of one such Shaheed whose body was found near Tora Bora.

Body of French Taliban recovered from Tora Bora

By Mushtaq Ali

PARACHINAR: The people of Tandor village on Monday buried another al-Qaeda fighter, French national Herve D Jamel, after recovering his body from the snow-covered Tora Bora mountains in Afghanistan. The tribesmen of Tandor village, some 21 kilometres north of here, after 16 hours journey in the mountains succeeded to bring the body of Herve Jamel to their village.

The tribesmen, who had recently pledged support to the government in its anti-terrorism campaign, had apprehended 108 al-Qaeda activists on December 17 and 18. Ferocious pet dogs had stopped the al-Qaida fighters from entering the village, who were immediately encircled and arrested by the villagers, Malik Haji Noor Rahman, a tribal elder, told The News on Sunday night. He said the fighters were brought to the village mosque and were served a meal before being handed over to the administration.

"We handed them over to the local administration for further investigation as per the agreement reached with the government. They had requested us to bring the bodies of their two colleagues, who died at Gandao Tangi near Tora Bora at the Pak-Afghan border," said Malik Noor Rahman sitting in the lone Hujra of Tandor village situated at a height of 10,000 feet above sea level.

He said the ten-member team of tribesmen, guided by Pakistan Army and Kurram Militia, managed to recover only the body of the French citizen. Deep grief and sorrow was writ large on the faces of the locals standing around the frozen body of Herve Jamel. All the villagers deeply mourned the death of a Muslim far away from his country of birth.

Colonel Ihsan of Kurram Militia, during search of the body, recovered a small copy of the Holy Qur'aan, French passport, identity card, PIA ticket, Rs 2,000 and 156,000 Afghanis, a pair of scissors, two calcium tablets and a screw. The passport revealed that the deceased went to Saudi Arabia on March 13, 1998 to perform Haj. The young French Muslim came to Lahore via Heathrow airport London on March 11, 2000 and then entered Afghanistan. Attired in a thin shirt, commando trouser and two sweaters, the body was completely frozen after lying in the snow for more than five days.
