THE    FIRST  PRINCIPLE

Bismillahirrahmaanirraheem!

Assalaamuaalaikum Wa Rahmathullahi Wa Barakaathuhu!

So, if it is said to you: ‘Who is your (Lord) Rabb?’ Then say: ‘My Lord is Allah, who has nurtured me and all of  creation with His Favours and Blessings. He is the one Whom I worship  and there is no other whom
I worship besides Him.The proof of this is the saying of Allah, the Most High:
“All the praises and thanks be to Allah, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). “[Surah Al-Fathihah Chapter 1 Verse 1]
Everything besides Allah is created being and I am one of the creation.

So if it is said to you ‘How did you arrive at this knowledge of your Rabb(Lord)? Then say,
Through His Signs and those things which He has created and from His Signs are the night and the day, the Sun and the Moon and from that which He created are the seven heavens and the seven earths and all those within them and whatsoever is in between them. The proof of this is the saying of Allah the Most High:
“And from among His Signs are the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. Prostrate not to the sun nor to the moon, but prostrate to Allah Who created them, if you (really) worship Him”.[Surath Al-Fussilat Chapter 41 Verse 37]

and the Most High’s saying:

“Indeed your Lord is Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth in Six Days, and then He Istawa (rose over) the Throne (really in a manner that suits His Majesty). He brings the night as a cover over the day, seeking it rapidly, and (He created) the sun, the moon, the stars subjected to His Command. Surely, His is the Creation and Commandment. Blessed be Allah, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)! “
[Surah Al-A’araf Chapter 7 Verse 54].

The Rabb(Lord) is the one who is worshipped, and the proof is the saying of Allah, the Most High:
“O mankind! Worship your Lord (Allah), Who created you and those who were before you so that you may become Al-Muttaqun (the pious - see V.2:2). “
“Who has made the earth a resting place for you, and the sky as a canopy, and sent down water (rain) from the sky and brought forth therewith fruits as a provision for you. Then do not set up rivals unto Allah (in worship) while you know (that He Alone has the right to be worshipped). “ [Surah Al-Baqrah Chapter 2 Verses 21 and 22].

Ibn Katheer(Rahimahullahi Alay) said:’The creator of these things deserves to be worshipped’.
All types of worship that Allah commanded in Islam (Submission and Obedience),
Eeman(True faith comprising belief of the heart, speech of the tongue and action of the limbs),
And Ihsaan(Perfection of worship) and from that is invocation/supplication(du’aa), reverential fear(Khawf), hope and longing(rajaa), trust and reliance(tawakkul), fervent desire(raghbah), dread(rahbah), reverence and humility(khush’hoo), awe(khashyah), turning repentantly(inaabah),
Appealing for aid and assistance(isti’ aanah), seeking refuge(isti’aadah), seeking deliverance and rescue(isth’ghaathah), sacrifising(dhabh), vows(nadhr)  and rest of types of worship commanded by Allah; all of them are to be done exclusively for Allah, the Most High.
The proof is the saying of Allah the Most High:
“And the mosques are for Allah (Alone), so invoke not anyone along with Allah. “
[Surah Al-Jinn Chapter 72 Verse 18]

Anyone who directs any part of that (above mentioned categories of worship) to anything besides Allah, then he is a mushrik(associationist), an unbeliever(kaafir) and the proof is the saying of Allah, the Most High:

“And whoever invokes (or worships), besides Allah, any other ilah (god), of whom he has no proof, then his reckoning is only with his Lord. Surely! Al-Kafirun (the disbelievers in Allah and in the Oneness of Allah, polytheists, pagans, idolaters, etc.) will not be successful. “
[Surah Al-Mu’minoon Chapter 23 Verse 117]

In the hadeeth there occurs ‘Invocations are the core of the worship’ and the proof for this is the saying of Allah the Most High:

“And your Lord said: "Invoke Me, [i.e. believe in My Oneness (Islamic Monotheism)] (and ask Me for anything) I will respond to your (invocation). Verily! Those who scorn My worship [i.e. do not invoke Me, and do not believe in My Oneness, (Islamic Monotheism)] they will surely enter Hell in humiliation!"
[Surah Ghafir Chapter 40 Verse 60].
