| Assalam alikum Insha Allah an Islamic school will be opening at our Mosque i.e Masjid As Salaam Central ave Albany NY by June 2002 We need detailed information on the syllabi being followed at other Islamic schools around the country esp for the beginners and the mid level students as well as reference books for the teachers. | Assalaamu Alaikum You can look at this site : islamiceducation.net E-mail them at IslamicEd@aol.com (Brother Yahiya Emerick is in this organization). He could probably link you up with all the Muslim schools in New York City. You can also look Universal School's website: universalschool.org You can e-mail them at Universalschool@aol.com. I don't know if the principal (my old principal) checks the account, but you can ask for his contact info. He has helped out other schools in other states, so inshaAllah should be able to help you. MSA National has this contact information page about Islamic Schools: http://www.msa-natl.org/resources/Schools.html I thought there was a Muslim school in Albany already. Is there? There's this cool website for Muslim schools in the UK: http://www.muslimschools.fsnet.co.uk/ If we had a association like that here, you would probably benifit from it a lot.
