salam, this past weekend, i recieved a proposal, which i rejected (i wont get into the details ) but anyways, when my freinds mother appraoched me about this brother, she told me that he allready knew soooo much about me, when she told me this, i felt kinda scared and uncomfy... i mean even though i rejected, he still knows things about me, and i dont know much about him my freinds mother told me somethings about the brother (which i did not agree with, therefore did not accept ) she knew little but she told me he knew lots but how do u sisters feel if a brother knows all this stuff about you, do u feel uncomfy and scared? jazakulah for the response wasalam nouha:) |

Assalamualaikum wrt wbk interesting question. the first word that comes to mind is stalker, nah I'm just kidding but such situations do cause one to feel very uncomfortable to say the very least. its odd when you're "being watched", and don't even realize it. reminds me of aunties and etc. makes you rather self-conscious no? Two thoughts come to mind, Maybe she was trying to flatter you by saying he knew lots about you. And what is a lot to one may not be anywhere near enough to another :) Next thought, maybe he asked and inquired about you. Either way I wouldn't feel offended, but as to uncomfortable? I can understand that as I value my privacy. I prefer if someone has a question they ask me but if I am understanding right as a Muslim that is not acceptable for a man to just start asking a woman questions as he is to go through a relative. Am I correct? |

walikumas'salaam warahmatullah ;-D like cara said..i wouldn't really feel uncomfortable..i would be a bit flattered..but that's just me ;-D i would think that someone should know, something about the person they r proposing marriage to..:) i wouldn't want someone who isn't into his wifey wearin hijab, approaching me..because it would be weird for them..na'mean? :) |

Why does he know so much about you without your knowledge of it? Assuming you didn't know he knew...I'm not sure about the degree of what he supposedly knows...but shouldn't any degree of information about you come either indirectly or directly from you? |
