Abu Hurayrah relates that a desert Arab came and urinated in the Prophet's mosque. People then got up running to beat and punish him. Whereupon the Holy Prophet (may the blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) restrained them and said:"Let go of him and pour a bucket of water over it to wash it out.  You have been raised up to make things easy and not to make them hard."

(Bukhari)

Look at the BEAUTY of our Prophet's (pbuh) character! This scene never fails to amaze me. Look at his (pbuh) tolerance, patience, mercy and sheer gentleness. He truly was sent as a mercy to all the worlds.  Perhaps the worst thing someone could do in a mosque, this man did . . . And yet look at how the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) responded . . .

What about us? . . . How do we deal with those who may be less knowledgable or ignorant of our religion . . . Is it like our Prophet (pbuh) with mercy, tolerance, patience, ease? . . . Remember, there was a time when YOU TOO were ignorant and th en Allah so generously poured His Mercy on you and guided you. . . Remember to be GENTLE with those who make mistakes . . . Just as you wish to be dealt with . .

After the devastation and distress that our Prophet (peace be upon him) faced at Taif . . . after the sadness and loneliness he faced when the two most caring people were taken from him . . . Allah, truly the Most Merciful One, compensated him with a miraculous journey known as "Al Isra wal Mi'raj." Starting from Masjid Al Haram in Mecca, he traveled with Jibreel, on the Buraq (a white animal), first to Masjid Al Aqsa in Jerusalem and then on an amazing journey through the heavens, culminating in entering the Presence of Allah. In Masjid Al Aqsa , he led all the Prophets in prayer. And through the Heavens he met several Prophets, including Adam, Yahya, Isa, Yusuf, Idris, Harun, Musa and Ibrahim (may the peace of Allah be upon them all). He saw the Paradise and the Hell Fire and ultimately he reached the Presence of Allah, where he received the 5 prayers from Him. He was then returned back home to his bed . . . while it was still warm!

Subhan Allah . . . Look at all the lessons we can learn!

"With every difficulty there must come relief." The words of Allah ring loud and true. And the greater your difficulty, the greater your relief will be. Are you facing tough times now ? Wait for your "Mi'raj" from Allah . . . maybe not to the Heavens :) . . . but a special gift from Him.

If the people on Earth humiliate or oppress you. . . well then the Lord of the Heavens and the Earth will exalt you. He will shower His Amazing Blessings on you , and show you how much He cares for you.

Another lesson . . . Nothing is impossible for our God. He is Al Qadeer. We must stop putting limitations on His Amazing Power. Do you doubt in One who took the Prophet from his bed, through the Heavens and back to his bed while it was still warm! Put your trust in Him - for whatever you believe . . . He can do and even more.

Finally, We learn that Islam is the final religion . . . Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the final Prophet under whom all other Prophets unite and follow.

One last thing : On the way to the Heavens , the Prophet (peace be upon him) stopped at Masjid Al Aqsa. What is Allah telling us ?? That no matter how long the night of injustice reigns, the Light of Justice will come shining through and Masjid Al Aqsa will be once again where it belongs . . . in the hands of the Muslims!

At the time of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) it was the custom of the Arabs to give away their babies to foster nurses to bring them up in the open air of the desert.  Many nurses showed up to take Mohammed (pbuh), but since he was an orphan with no father to pay for their services, they refused him, believing he was not a good chance for income.  Only Halimah Sa'diyah consented to take him, as there was no other babies avaliable at the time.  No sooner did she take Mohammed (pbuh) but blessing after blessing appeared in her life!  And what else can you expect when Halimah had unknowingly taken he who was to be the Prophet of Allah! Milk returned to her dry breasts, her cows gave abundant milk, her house was blessed, her husband's business flourished . . . .  So, an unwanted orphan turned out to be the Last Prophet to all the worlds!!!!!

Sometimes what we see with OUR eyes to be dissapointing . . .  may be filled with hidden blessings from the Most Wise Allah.  Allah sees everything: He sees what is secret and what is yet more hidden.  He knows the past, the present and the future . . . And He knows what is good for us. Do not be dissapointed or doubt what Allah has provided for you.  Trust His Choice and be pleased with what He has so wisely chosen for you.  You just might be surprised . . . But be patient . . . Patience opens the doors to happiness . . .

Ayesha (may Allah be pleased with her) was once asked:

"What was the most wondorous thing you have ever seen from the Messenger of Allah?"

She answered: "Everything about him was wondorous. But I will tell you this, when the darkness of the night came in, and every lover went to be with his beloved, he went to be with Allah."

The night is the time when everyone seeks out his beloved. But how many seek out Allah? . . . . . Waking up to meet Allah in the night is one of the greatest ways to show Him how true your love is. No soul knows the reward for 2 rak'aats prayed in the last third of the night.

As Allah says: " Their sides forsake their beds to call on their Lord in fear and in hope, and they spend out of what we have provided them. No soul knows what delights of the eye are kept hidden for them as a reward for what they used to do." (Al Sajdah: 16-17)

Be like our Prophet (peace be upon him) who gave up some sleep to bow and prostrate before the Almighty Allah in the darkest hours of the night . . .

Scenes of the Prophet's Life...

The Prophet Muhammad (may the blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) used to honor everyone who came to visit him. Sometimes he would even take the cloak on his shoulders off and spread it out for his guest to sit on. He would take the cushion he was leaning on and offer it to his guest prefering their comfort to his own. If they refused, he would continue to insist until they accepted.

As always, the sheer beauty of our Prophet's charcter continues to awe and amaze us. He made even the most simple things beautiful. And he would prefer others to himself, even in the smallest of things. He would honor his guest as if they were a king, even though he himself was the Prophet of Allah!

This makes us ask a question of ourselves: How delicate are we in dealing with others? Do we take care of their feelings? Do we go out of our way to make them feel special in our company? Do we go out of our way to make them smile? To what extent do you appreciate the feelings of those Allah has placed in your life?

Why don't we start, even with a cushion! Next time Allah sends anyone into your company, don't hesitate to offer them your cushion, your smile, your listening ear, and above all your compassion. This is what made Muhammad (peace be upon him) so special in the Eyes of Allah, the beauty of his character, and the depth of his compassion.

This is his sunna, let us follow it . . .

Scenes of the Prophet's Life

"When the Prophet Muhammad (may the blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) shook hands with anyone, he would never withdraw his hand until the other person withdrew his."

(Tirmidhi)

Look at the sheer beauty of our Prophet's (pbuh) character. He never wanted to hurt anyone, who came into his presence, to even the weight of an atom. Even in something as simple as shaking hands, he (pbuh) would make sure that he was the last to withdraw his hand. It sounds so simple, but try it, it makes a powerful difference on the feelings of the person in front of you.

Another hadith tells us that even when speaking with people, he would never turn his head away from that person, until the other person did. How many times have you been speaking to someone, and for whatever reason, they turn their head away. It does hurt. Or someone is speaking to you, and you do not care to give them your full attention, and you turn your head here and there.

But the Prophet (pbuh) took extra care of even the most delicate feelings of those he met.

These small details are truly what make a person's character beautiful and outstanding, and worthy of being near to our Prophet (pbuh) on the Day of Judgment.

Scenes of the Prophet's Life

In the early years of his mission, while still in Mecca, our Prophet (peace be upon him), under continual opposition from his tribe the Quraysh, went to Taif, a neighboring city, to call them to Islam and thus gain their support.. What was their reaction? They laughed at him and mocked him with the most insulting, crude remarks such as, "Couldn't God find anyone better than you to choose as His Prophet?" and they ordered their children to chase him out of the city and throw stones at him until his feet cut and bled. Under such distress, coupled with the fact that BOTH his beloved wife Khadiga and his uncle Abu Talib had just died, he collapsed under a tree and raised his hands to The Most High in a heart-rendering dua . . . "O Allah, I complain to You of the weakness of my strength, the lack of my support and my insignificance to the people . . . "

If this is what our Prophet (peace be upon him), the beloved of Allah, whose name is written on the Throne of Allah, underwent . . . . . then what about us ??? Tests are the means through which Allah measures the strength of your faith. How else will you show Allah that you really believe in Him unless through the hardships of a test ? We can all say that we believe when the waters are calm, but it is during the storm that true belief shows.

BUT : If you face your test with patient perseverance and uncompromising trust in Allah, as our Prophet did, then this apparently "horrible thing" will bring amazing good. Through this test your status in Allah's Sight will be raised as well as your place in the Hereafter and you will watch with awe at Allah's Greatness as He brings something amazing out of even the worst circumstances. Doesn't He bring milk out from between blood and guts? Do not doubt Him . . . He is Allah.

Another overwhelming beauty of our Prophet in this scene . . . Is who did he turn to? He ran to Allah. He poured out his heart and let his tears fall to the One who hears all calls. Because he knows that it is ONLY Allah who is the True Comforter. Who do you turn to in your time of distress? Your mom, husband, sister, best friend . . . chocolate ? The true believer runs to Allah. Because only Allah answers the call of the desperate soul and relieves its suffering. Only Allah can comfort you.
