affordable professional clothes?

Salaams,
I just wanted to know if anyone knows of any websites that have conservative, formal type professional clothing that also meets Islamic dress standards, has longer jackets, etc. I know of many, but the prices for these suits are always like 70$ or so and I am going to need at least 3 or 4 suits, maybe up to 7!!So if anyone knows where I can get suits for like 30 or 40$, it would be appreciated if you let me know,

I had a similar problem with clothing, those that were suitable were far too expensive, and those that were "reasonably" priced I wouldn't even make my dog (if I had one) wear...far too skimpy ;-D

So, what I did was, got my self a pair of :-
formal black slacks
a pair of comfy black pants
navy blue pants
and grey pants
then the long jackets - 2 only - one black and one fawn

couple these with some nice blouses...and (insha-Allah) you got yourself a mix and match working wardrobe ;-D

...and for the scarves...black seems to go with most of the stuff, navy and grey complete the rest :-)

Also a suggestion, if you can find someone that can sew for you this is a great money saver (sometimes) This way you can specify how and what you want your suit top to look like.

I do this with skirts.  I love wearing skirts, but it is next to impossible to find one that does have the slit all the way to the waist :(

Thankfully I am really lucky, cause my mom does alot of sewing for me.  Makes it much cheaper.

Shukran,
Actually, given enough time and uncomplicated enough of a pattern, I can so respectably! I'll try a suit and see if it comes out looking professional. If not, I'll try  Rehana's idea and try to diet my way into borrowing from my slim sister!

I live in the US, good quality suit material seems to go at 5$+, but you can get some deals at 2-3$.

As salamu alaykum Kareema,

If you are interested in buying I've gotten some good stuff at TJMaxx and Marshall's.  Others have told me that JC Penney is good, although I didn't find anything there.  Last year around this time they had an awesome sale.  Another place thap I would check is Spiegels online.  If you go to there check their outlet store since the clothes there  are more affordable.  Between these stores I have been able to find long skirts that are Islamic.

As salamu alaykum

 Just an update,
I did make this really cute long shirt, with mandarin collar and those Mandarin style buttons. It looks nice, but its not professional enough, I was just testing the pattern, which is a bit long in the shoulder area, so I had to shorten the sleeves.  I'm going to look for a better pattern and get started this next weekend, Inshallah.

Jelbab.com had some really nice outfits, kinda $$$ though.
