Muwatta Book 9, Number 9.24.91: Yahya related to me from Malik from Yahya ibn Said that Abdullah ibn Masud said to a certain man, " A time will come upon men when their fuqaha are few but their Qur'an reciters are many, when the letters of the Qur'an are guarded carefully but its limits are lost, when many ask but few give, when they make the khutba long but the prayer short, and put their desires before their actions."

May Allaah allow us to set our priorities correctly. Ameen.

Daily.  There are thousands of Hadith out there that will benefit us.  Maybe we should also start a daily/weekly post of false or fabricated Hadith (these too also number in the thousands and are good to know).

slm ,
why do a "false hadith"... i think it's more important that ppl learn the regular authentic hadith of the prophet [saw] instead of dwelving into other things that may just confuse them...

On the authority of Abdullah Bin Masood (may Allah be pleased with him), he [saw] said: "There will be rulers over you, who will leave the sunnah like this, and he pointed to the origin of his finger. If you were to leave these rulers alone, they will bring great affliction and disaster. There has been no previous ummah except that the first thing they left from their religion was the sunnah, and the last to be left was the salat , and were not these rulers shy and afraid from people, they would not pray".

Narrated by Al-Hakim and he said this is saheeh hadith on the condition of Bukhari and Muslim

This is one of my favourite Hadeeth. Has a deep meaning on relationship of Allah and Time.

Malik related to me from Abu'z-Zinad from al-Araj from Abu Hurayra that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Let none of you complain about time, for Allah is time.'
                     Malik's Muwattta, Book 56, Number 56.1.3

[slm] Hadith
From Abu Hurairah (radiyallaahu 'anhu) who said that Allaah's Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wa'sallam) said: Richness is not having many belongings, but richness is the richness of the soul (contentment).

Reported by Muslim (Eng. Trans. 2/501/no.2287)

Why is that when I think about the ummah the following hadith always comes to mind?

"By He in Whose hand is my soul! The world shall not pass [away] before there comes upon people a day in which the murderer will not know why he has murdered, nor will the murdered one know why he has been killed."
[Muslim]

May Allah (swt) protect us all from the evil and corruption of this age. Ameen.
