It is He who has sent down to you, [O Muhammad], the Book; in it are verses which are precise - they are the foundation of the Book - and others unspecific.  As for those in whose hearts in deviation [from truth], they will follow that of it which is unspecific, seeking discord and seeking an interpretation [suitable to them].  And no one knows its [true] interpretation except Allah.  But those firm in knowledge say, "We believe in it.  All [of it] is from our Lord."  And no one will be reminded except those of understanding.  (3:7)

Muhammad (saw) said:

"Some peoples will come on the Day of Judgement and their Iman will
be outstanding, it's light will shine from their chests and from
their right hands. So it will be said to them, 'glad tidings for you
today, Assalaamu alaykum and goodness for you, enter into it (Jannah)
forever! So the angels and the Prophets will be jealous of the love
of Allah for them". So the Sahabah asked, ' who are they O Messenger
of Allah?' He (saw) replied, "They are not from us and they are not
from you. You are my companions but they are my beloved. These will
come after you and will find the book (the Qur'an) made redundant by
the people, and a Sunnah, which has been killed by them. So they will
grab hold of the book and the Sunnah and revive them. So they will
read them and teach them (the Qur'an and the Sunnah) to the people
and they will experience in that path a punishment more severe and
more ugly than what you (O Sahabah) have experienced. Indeed, the
Imaan of one of them is equivalent to the Imaan of forty of you. The
Shaheed of one of them is equivalent to forty of your Shuhadaa'.
Because you found a helper towards the truth (the Prophet [saw]) and
they will find no helper towards the truth. So they will be
surrounded by tyrant rulers in every place, and they will be in the
surroundings of Bayt ul-Maqdis (al-Quds, Jersulaem). The Nussrah
(victorious material support) of Allah will come to them, and they
will have the honour of it on their hands". Then he (saw) said "Oh
Allah give them the Nussrah and make them my close friends in Jannah"
(Musnad of Imam Ahmed).

Hadith
Hadhrat Abu Umaamah (Radhiallaahu Anhu) reports that Nabi [saw]
, 'Whosoever makes Wudhu prior to going to bed remembering Allah Ta'ala until he falls asleep, thereafter, at any time of the night if happens to awake and asks Allah Ta'ala for anything, Allah Ta'ala will definitely grant it to him.' (Mutajirur Raabih pg.66; Najdatul Hadeetha)

Commentary
Logic will tell us that if a person performs Wudhu prior to going to bed, then instead of falling asleep he will stay awake! But out beloved Nabi [saw] informed us that via this action, Allah Ta'ala will help us with all our needs, of this world and the hereafter.

Imam Ahmad narrates with his chain of narrators leading to Ibn Abbas who said, “A man from Bani Saleem passed by a group of the Prophet’s companions. (At that time of war) The man said ‘as salamu alaykum’ to them. The companions concluded that he only said ‘as salamu alaykum’ to them as a deception to save himself from being caught. They surrounded him and Malham ibn Juthaamah killed him. From that event Allah revealed the verse…

"O you who have believed, when you go forth (to fight) in the cause of Allah, investigate, and do not say to one who gives you (a greeting of peace), “You are not a believer,” Aspiring for the goods of worldly life; for with Allah are many acquisitions. You (yourselves) were like that before; then Allah conferred His favor (i.e. guidance) upon you, so investigate. Indeed, Allah is ever with what you do, acquainted." [4:94]

A man will be tested according to the strength of his faith. If his faith is strong, then the distress with which he is tried will be greater; if his faith is weak, he will be tested in accordance with the level of his faith. It is narrated by Abu Musa that the Prophet (SAW) said, "The example of guidance and knowledge with which Allah has sent me is like abundant rain falling on the earth, some of which was fertile soil that absorbed rain-water and brought forth vegetation and grass in abundance. (And) another portion of it was hard and held the rain- water and Allah benefited the people with it and they utilized it for drinking, (making their animals drink from it) and to irrigate the land for cultivation. (And) a portion of it was barren which could neither hold the water nor bring forth vegetation (then the land was of no benefit). The first is the example of the person who comprehends Allah's Religion and gets benefit from the knowledge which Allah has revealed through me and learns and then teaches it to others. The (last example is that of a) person who does not care for it and does not take Allah's Guidance revealed through me (He is like the barren land.)" (Bukhari).
