I want to ask something regarding health matter. Maybe there are some of you out there that know or experienced "tinnitus" problems. I would like to know whether it can be cured or not? Or shall people with tinnitus have to stay with their tinnitus whole life :(?

Jazakallahu Khairan for your information

sorry to be peeking in at the men  ;D, but i just happened to be studying tinnitus the other day. there are many different ways to treat tinnitus. my advice would be to talk to your doctor about it. he can help you determine which treatment option is best for you. :)

This is taken from the webmd website.  My personal favorite to look up information on things:)

[quote]Tinnitus (pronounced either tin-night-is or tin-it-is), or ringing in the ears, is the sensation of hearing ringing, buzzing, hissing, chirping, whistling or other sounds. The noise can be intermittent or continuous, and can vary in loudness. It is often worse when background noise is low, so you may be most aware of it at night when you're trying to fall asleep in a quiet room. In rare cases, the sound beats in sync with your heart.

Tinnitus is very common, affecting an estimated 50 million adults in the United States. For most people the condition is merely an annoyance. In severe cases, however, tinnitus can cause people to have difficulty concentrating and sleeping. It may eventually interfere with work and personal relationships, resulting in psychological distress. About 12 million people seek medical help for severe tinnitus every year.

hmm so thats what it is, you know now that i think about it, i sometimes get this low pitch ringing in my ears, it lasts for like 10 seconds and goes. Happens every couple of months.

Is this due to damage in the ear drums or something?
