I've just heard from the BBC, Channel 4, ITN, SKY News and BBC radio news that a massive battle is raging in Eastern Afghanistan between the American forces (backed by afghans), against the Mujaahideen Taliban/Al-qaeda global allaince!!!

So far, what these western organisations have reported is that dozens of fighters have been injured and several killed, including US soldeirs. The death toll is not clear yet, but the Mujaahdeen are putting up ferocious resistance and inflicting heavy casualties on the Crusaders, alhumdulillah.

We have yet to get the news on this from Islaamic agenices Such as Azzam and Al-Jazeera, but when they do give thier version of events, inshallah they will report success for the mujahideen.

So to all those that said this fight was lost, understand this:

This fight has only just begun. It took our heroes 10 long hard years to defeat the mighty russians, today we face an even greater enemy, but inshallah, the mujaahideen will once again be victories.

AMEEN.

TAKBEER!!

ALLAAHU AKHBAR!!

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Pentagon sources say at least one U.S. and two Afghan soldiers were killed and several others wounded in skirmishes with al Qaeda and Taliban forces near the eastern Afghan town of Gardez on Saturday.

The U.S. and Afghan soldiers were wounded in battles with fighters defending high ground with machine-gun fire, the sources said.

Fighting on the ground began after U.S. forces bombed near Gardez, targeting al Qaeda and Taliban holdouts. Afghan fighters returning later on Saturday from the front lines said they were badly outnumbered and were being pushed back by as many as 5,000 fighters.

A contingent of U.S. Special Forces was fighting alongside the Afghans.

Military sources described the operation as the largest U.S. offensive this year in Afghanistan.

The sources said the operation "could last for some time."

It began with U.S. B-52 airstrikes Friday night at Shahi-kot, southwest of Gardez, aimed at al Qaeda and Taliban holdouts who have been hiding out there for weeks, Afghan and U.S. officials said.

Officials said the bombing was followed early Saturday by 500 to 600 Afghan soldiers on the ground and an initial deployment of U.S. troops, believed to be from the Army's 101st Airborne Division. The 101st is based at the Kandahar airport in southern Afghanistan, and troops were moving into eastern Afghanistan by helicopter.

Safi Ulla-khan, an assistant to the Shahi-kot governing council, said U.S. troops had been seen on the ground fighting alongside Afghan forces. He also reported seeing U.S. transport helicopters and helicopter gunships flying, bombing and landing at a local base.

He added that there were casualties but did not know who they were.

At Kabul bus stations, where vehicles arrived carrying travelers from Gardez, witnesses said they heard the bombing and saw U.S. troops in the region.

"We heard the sound of bombing all last night," said Latif, a resident of the Shahi-kot region who arrived in Kabul Saturday morning. "There was a stronghold of Taliban in Shahi-kot which now belongs to local mujahedeen. We saw some American troops who were heading in that direction."

The closest border with Pakistan has been sealed for several months to block any fleeing al Qaeda from escaping, but residents report that people still filter across the border. Pakistan took steps early Saturday to tighten it.
