| fwd.... hey everyone, the arab-american family support center is desperately looking for families to take in foster children,temporarily or permanently. we have one serious case ;of a 15 month old yemeni boy who has been abandoned. ;we need to place him with a family as soon as possible. right now he is with a spanish family and ;family services is worried about keeping him in a home ;with an unfamiliar religious and ethnic background. if anyone can help or knows anyone who can help, please ;call me at 718 643 8000, ext.19. please also send this email out to as many people as you know. dahlia. |

| Assalaamu 'alaikum wa rahmatullah, everyone Here's an update...I heard back from someone who knows someone who contacted this organization to get info re: the child, offering to take the baby into their home. The response was something to the effect of: "The baby is already somewhat attached to the Christian family it has been placed with. The response of the Muslim community was a bit late, it wouldn't be prudent at this point to change the baby's situation again," etc etc etc. Guys, can you please make du'aa for this child? This is turning into somewhat of a 20/20 episode. I believe it may be taken to CAIR insha'Allah, maybe more will have to be done to get this child into a Muslim environment. Poor child, please make du'aa, not only for him, but our own state. As Muslims living in the west, we have more to offer than we care to realize, this shouldn't be happening. At all. Not that the intentions of the Christian family should be disregarded, but the child has to be taught Islam. I'm reminded of this hadith/narration of the Prophet (saws): Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: No babe is born but upon Fitra. It is his parents who make him a Jew or a Christian or a Polytheist. [saheeh muslim] :( |
