Assalamu'alaikum

I know this sister and her husband personally. Something terrible happened to them. If anyone has any information, please help them.

Jazakallah.
Wassalam :-)
===================================

[color=black]Asalaamu Alaykum

I am a revert sister from Ashton under Lyne near Manchester, my husband is also a muslim, we are both what I would consider visibly Muslim, I wear
hijab and my husband has a beard although we both wear modest western
clothing generally.  On the 12th Feb 2002 my husband was walking home at 1pm in the afternoon from a friends, another English brothers house in the holy trinity area of Ashton where we live.  This brothers house is only 200 yards from our house and it is usually a fairly quiet area although there are some problems with loutish lads hanging  around and things.  My husband noticed two Pakistani guys hanging around on the corner, they were looking at him suspiciously.  At first my husband thought it was some local brothers he knew, trying to discern whether or not it really was my husband, but as he got closer he realised he did not know them and he had never seem them before.  As our area is quite small it is quite likely they are not from our area.  My husband turned away and continued to walk minding his own business, then a voice rang out 'what u looking at u white mother******?'

my husband ignored them and carried on walking, then something or someone hit him on the back of the head, hard and the voice came again 'what you looking at you ********* white bastard?' my husband turned to face them and said 'look I am muslim, please leave me alone and don't be like this' they replied 'yeah right u'r muslim as if white people can be Muslim!' my husband turned and started to run, as he got quite far away he said 'Allahu Akbar', then he does not know precisely what happened next, but either he naturally tripped up or these 'brothers' tripped him, for the next five minutes he was kicked and beaten by the two men, on the chest, stomach, legs and when my husband tried to protect his face, they kicked his arms.  They also tore his jumper and scraped it along the back of his neck.  After five minutes when my husband was by this time barely concious they said 'hes had enough' and calmly walked away towards the direction of the bus station, my husband managed to stagger home and called the police, who took hours to arrive and then were very unhelpful, in fact they would not believe it was racially motivated and at one point accused my husband of being racist! a'udhu billah, even though he told them most of his friends were asian and due to our dress, decor of our home etc, it was quite obvious we ourselves are Muslim. My husband was quite badly hurt, his arms swelled to almost twice their size, his ribs were badly bruised, he had cuts and grazes everywhere and there were marks from his own jumper and the shoes of the attackers clearly visible on his torso.  My husband also obviously has emotional scars because of this. Last monday our story was featured on the front page of
the Asian news, a free local paper available throughout the north west but so far no-one has come forward, there were also no witnesses nearby enough to ive a relaible account.  However I know a lot of north west people read this list so if anyone hears anything please report it to the police, these guys are nutcases and have to be stopped before they pick on someone more vulnerable or before they go further.  Please pass this on.

[slm]I read about this in our local newspaper and i extremely saddend by it .How could these so called muslims do such a terrible thing to a brother.I am also a revert to islam living in oldham and some asian guys attacked  my sister in a park  although not seriously  we were with some friends and my mum when it happened we called the police but they did nothing even though we knew who they were.the police dont  bother,thats why these racial attacks keep happening.I blame the parents they just let there kids out from an early age to wander the streets round our area kids as young as 2 play on the streets supervised by siblings not much older using foul language when you pass them in the street.It makes me really sad when i see muslim children who are not taught to respect others.These people should implement islam inyo their lives and then call themselves muslims.I  pray for my brother and sister  one day you will get justice and all those who attack muslims will se deep regret one day when they realise whtat they did. I don't think it's the parents

Most muslims youths find it pretty difficult
being nice to people when the majority of English people
treat them like scum

Especially in the North

I'd be interested on what Bro Hanif has to say on this statement since he lives further up North.

As for the parents I completely agree with you Sr Saira. Why there are so many youngsters (of all backgrounds) roaming the streets is beyond me.

It's sad that muslims can do such a thing to one of their own :(

I hope they find those criminals and put them where they belong!!!

   Mohja

         What these muslims consider their own is fairly restricted
   Very few south Asian muslim youth feel they have anything in common   with the
   Saudi's or far eastern muslims.

    I'd say muslim identity has pretty much disintegrated
