| [slm] I think that even fake hair would fall under the context of changing ALLAH's creation,. and thus the same reason why shaping eyebrows is not allowed. This is my opinion but maybe someone could ask an Alim about it. BUSHRA :-) |

| [slm] well like bushra said, ask a alim, but heres my opinion anyway: it is ok for women to dye their hair, if they wear hijab becuase the purpose of dying hair is for beauty, but if your gonna cover your hair then its all good so if your going to add extensions and stuff, i would assume its ok if you wear hijab because its for beauty. you cant shape your eyebrows whether your covered or not becuase everyone can see your eyebrows... [wlm] nouha:) |

| [slm] I believe there is a specific injunction about hair extensions (fake or real), so most scholars do say they are haram.. whether one wears hijab or not. There are scholars that allow hair dying, but there are others that don't.. w'Allahu alam. |

Women are forbidden to add extensions to their hair, whether they are made of hair or anything else, if they could be mistaken for hair, because of the reports that have been narrated concerning that. | [slm] this is a little off the hair extensions topic, but falls under wigs. are they permissable if you lose your hair due to a medical reason such as cancer? my former husband told me it was permissable for men and women to wear them if they lose their hair due to something like cancer. [wlm] jaj :-) |

[/quote] Wa'alaikum Assalaam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 7.818 Narrated by Asma (the daughter of Abu' Bakr) A woman came to Allah's Apostle and said, "I married my daughter to someone, but she became sick and all her hair fell out, and (because of that) her husband does not like her. May I let her use false hair?" On that the Prophet cursed such a lady as artificially lengthening (her or someone else's) hair or got her hair lengthened artificially. ~~~~~ Your Sis in Islaam Jenna :-) |

| [slm] Can some one tell me if it is wrong to donate hair after it has been cut. There is a program called Wigs for Kids. They use donated hair to make wigs for children that have lost their hair due to cancer. |

| [slm] After readng all the posts above it would seem to be wrong. I am not a scholar! Islamic rules are made for everyone, for the betterment of man. I guess making wigs for non muslims is in the same catagory as is it allowed for them to drink alcohol, eat pork, interst loans etc... Personally I would rather not contribute to something that is not allowed for me as a Muslim. |

| [slm] Well I cant bring back last years donation. but after reading these and talking to Kathy once before I guess the packet we have ready to be mailed will have to be tossed. Aniesa thought she was doing something so nice. :( InshaAllah we will both understand better once we read about it. |
