| [slm] A sister would like some help on being convinced to wear a hijab. She would really like to wear one even though ppl tell her she's young, she doesn't have to just yet (she's 15). She's afraid of what ppl will say behind her back...How can I give her the motivation. She really wants to MashaAllah and InshaAllah i would like to help in giving her the confidence to do so... | assalamu alaikum if she has reached the age of maturity then it is compulsory for her to wear the hijab. 15 is not considered younge. it is hard for some sisters to put on the hijab but this should not discourage her. others have gone through the same thing but now wearing the hijab is like putting on a coat in winter. it just becomes normal. putting on the hijab has so many benfits on top of pleasing Allah (swt). you finally are recognised as a Muslim and other sisters stop you in the street and greet you. there is no confusion about your religious belief. also it nice to not have to worry what you wear when you go out. you can save dressing up when you are at home with those that are close to you. i really can't say anything else except the soon it is done the better. all t e amount of thinking upon it will not change anything. all the best wa alaikum assalam |

| [slm] Jaza killahi khair for your reply sis...however it didn't give me quite a clear answer. She doesn't have the confidence to wear hijab and to be honest, I don't know the ways in convincing her. I know she has to wear hijab and I think she knows that too, but she's lacking the confidence to wear one. May Allah-u Subhana Wata'ala give her and us all the guidance and strength. Ameen. | Betul, she really needs to talk to some other girls her age to give her some confidence and motivation. just tell her to ask girls when/how/why did you start wearing hijab and take it from there.... [wlm] |

| She has the right to choose for herself. Let her do that and be there for her if she needs you |
