assalamu alaikum i have a gold fish and i wanted to know if is ok to give him a name or is that too much like giving an animal a human characteristic. wa alaikum assalam

I vaguely remember a hadith about the prophet [saw] comforting a child who lost his pet bird.. and he asked what it's name was... Maybe someone can find it... wAllahu alam
