Assalaamu 'alaikum wa rahmatullah - Who is "Shaikh" Palazzi? What are your thoughts on him? Got a tip from an Orthodox Jewish sister on some "good Arabs." I have my own opinions, but thought I'd ask y'all. |

[slm] This is one person you should stay away from completely. Don't read his works, and don't spread it. Hmmm, he actually contacted me and some other Muslim organizations, 2 years ago. There is a lot I could say about him and his organization, but this board is not the place for it. |

Yeah I took the menu off. I think people were clicking on "Register" over there by accident and then trying to login here and getting all confused.... I'll put it back soon after I can take out the register thing inshaAllah. |

[slm] He was one of the speakers at the Conference on Imam Al Ghazzali held by my Uni last Oct. I was so totally UNimpressed by what he said. Oh and he came across as someone lacking in adab too. Nau'uzubillah. |

assalaamu alaikum Its distressing to hear that he was invited by an MSA. The people sending out the invitations should really have done some background checking on the speakers the were calling. Kashif Wa Salaam |

Uhhhhh He wasn't invited by the MSA. He was invited by the Uni itself. It was an international conference on Al Ghazzali's work and its contemporary relevance. The conference was primarily attended by Professors from all around the world. His paper was off tangent and unimpressive. My Prof said there was a reason for inviting him, maybe there was. Wallahualam. |

SHIFT WAR ON TERROR, SHEIKH WARNS Saudi Arabia is ‘leading rogue nation’ and main danger, says pro-Israel Muslim HARVEY SHEPHERD The Gazette April 26, 2002 The biggest backer of terrorism today is Saudi Arabia, "the leading rogue nation in the world," says a pro?Israel Italian Muslim on a Canadian tour. Sheikh Abdul Hadi Palazzi, secretary?general of the Italian Muslim Association, said in an interview yesterday that the main danger to the West today is from countries "that many in the West consider pro?Western: Saudi Arabia and the Persian Gulf Emirates. He said these countries have largely financed world terrorism and the West should concentrate on this danger rather than on "bombing empty mountains" in Afghanistan or moving against Iraq's Saddam Hussein. PRO?ISRAELI FOUNDATION Palazzi was interviewed in the Montreal headquarters of the Canadian Institute for Jewish Research, a pro?Israel educational foundation that is organizing the tour. He spoke at Beth Israel Beth Aaron Congregation in Cote St. Luc last night. He is also to participate in a seminar at the University of Toronto Monday and speak at synagogues in Toronto Tuesday and Winnipeg Thursday. (One sponsor of the Winnipeg talk is the Asper Foundation, supported by the family that controls the company that publishes The Gazette.) The sheikh said the Italian Muslim Association has about 5,000 members, of a total Italian Muslim population of around 500,000. The group says Western democracies that separate church and state create a good milieu for Islam. The sheikh praised Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon for confining Yasser Arafat, leader of the Palestine Liberation Organization. FORGET PALESTINIAN STATE * He said Arafat never really wanted a Palestinian state but used?the idea to create a terror?based structure to enrich himself and his associates. "When that mass murderer is in prison he must never be released. Imprisoning Arafat will bring hope not only to Israel but to the Arabs." He said a Palestinian state in the occupied territories is a dream that belongs in the past. "Conditions for creating a third Palestinian state no longer exist," he said. (In his view, the region he calls Palestine already includes two states: Israel and Jordan.) He suggested Israel retain full control of the territories, with their residents becoming Israeli citizens with some local autonomy, somewhat like German?speakers in the Italian Tyrol or Arab citizens of today's Israel. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/musli...ntreal/messages http://64.4.14.250/cgi-bin/linkrd?_...real%2fmessages |

My God... who on earth made him "secretary general of the Italian Muslim Association" I wouldn't be surprised if he made up the organization himself. He kinda sounds like someone else we know who made up their own "Islamic Supreme Council"... Sponsored by the "Canadian Institute for Jewish Research, a pro-Israel educational foundation that is organizing the tour." sheesh i think all muslim organizations and msa's should be duly warned!!! >:( |

[slm] He was on TV here in Ontario the other day. I watched part of the interview with amazement -- he said that the only way for there to be peace in the middle east was for someone to execute Arafat!!!! He later ammended this statement to include ousting him, but still.... [wlm] Leslie |
