| [slm] Guys, i think we should vote of the "views" feature on the boards. Its seriously misleading!! For example, say someone posts one new message, and i read it, it will have one view, if i know reply to this, it then has two views!! The views thing is misleading, it shows many many more views then people have actually viewed!! Or am i making a mountain out of a mole hill? ??? |

| [slm] I really like it- but then- I'm always interested in statistics. I post a topic- and like to watch- how many read it vs how many post. For Example: The Easter topic& the Abuse topic- alot read them- so they found the information potentially useful. But by #replies i would not have known that. I also got a chuckle over Br. Khalid's personal "brothers only"- their were alot of views.... :-) |

| maybe you shouldn't read this if finding out just how misleading those view numbers are will make you sad..... mujaahid is right about the inflation of the numbers, but it's sometimes even worse than doubling. with my lackadaisical dial-up connection, i've had to reload topics as many as four times just to get to read them once. every reload registers as a new view. |

Mujaahid this is nothing personal toward you, I am only quoting one of your remarks to answer ok little bro? #1) Maybe two people we're reading it at once and that is why it shows two views. #2) I personally think this whole site is wonderful and precious. I personally have benefited in many ways, thank God/Allah. I can only imagine it took hours upon hours to get this new board up and instead of thanking and appreciating Jannah and others for their efforts seems like someone always wants to vote something on or off. #3) I think it is great ... I know if I see a new post then I enter a thread more than once a day so if 5 or 10 or 20 of us are doing that, buy the end of the week that is 35 or 70 or 100 or many more per week. It shows people that even though there are limited replies, there is an interest. I personally monitor some subjects on a regular basis but feel I have nothing beneficial or good to add so I don't post but look at it once or twice a day. Hope this doesn't sound to harsh, but isn't this Jannah's project ? (correct me if I am wrong) It is hers (and others) efforts, if folks wanna go doing things different then go put hours of your heart and sweat into a project (web sire) and then you can do it the way you want to. Forgive me Admins but I just had to say this. Personally I thank Jannah and all who helped put this and the old boards together. They are wonderful and I know they must of took many hours and days and weeks to do. I still think the Views are seriously misleading AND i think they have a negative affect as in people see it, and it may have a lot of views, and people think, "well if they aint replied, then no point in me replying either, as they dont seem to think its important"!! And i can clearly see this as many topics have just not picked up like they used to on the old boards!! |

How many times does Jannah have to ask you not to do that before you are respectful enough to honor her wishes :( and respectful enough to obide by the rules she set up. Is sneaking and breaking rules something the Prophet would of done or condoned??? I don't think so. |

There are people (non-Muslims and Muslims) that have refuted such statements having gone there themselves. In fact the ambassador of the Taliban visited USC about a year or two ago and answered many of these allegations here: http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/Taliban/talebanlec.html There was a yahoo group setup that answered many questions with proofs here: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/taliban_info As has already been mentioned a few times here (and its in the constitution) , the debates/discussions about the Taliban will not be discussed here further, in the past a few people were banned because they couldn't control their behavior, became too emotional and resorted to name calling. |
