| Male caretakers walking into washroom? |

| Today while I was in a public washroom on campus to my wuthu a male caretaker came in without warning. This is the second time this happened to me on campus this year (Two different washrooms and different caretakers. Both times I was the only one in the washroom). The first time I was fortunate--I had finished my wuthu and had my scarf on and everything. Today, however, I was just about to start my wuthu. I had my sleeves rolled up and my scarf tied back so that my neck was bare when the man came in. Both times I did not say anything. The first time I left the washroom and today I simply pulled down my sleeves and put my scarf on properly. But now, thinking back I should have said something and not let it go as if it was no big deal. What would you sisters have done if this happened to you? |

| [slm] sister anon -- pleeeeeeeeeeeeease go and COMPLAIN!!!!!!! report that becuase you have the rigth to, they shouldnt be coming in at all while a girl is in there, they are disrespecting your privacy as a muslim women and just simply a woman, whether your muslim or not these men should not be in the same bathroom with girls thats disgusting!!!!! >:( [wlm] nouha:) |

| [slm] I am sure there are written policies that this man should be following- and isn't. Maybe he missed that day in training- or is just being lazy- or worse a sexual pervert/predator. Immediately notify those in charge of this area. |

| [slm] I dont think its fair to start accusing the guy of being a pervert Kathy. Several times while at work, the old granny cleaners have walked into the washroom where i work, that dont mean she's a perv, just not a very respectful person. I thnk its to do with the atmosphere of where we live, the west. Their dont seem to be no shame no more in privacy. In france, i've heard from a french sister that where she used to go to college, they had mixed bathrooms, for men AND women to share!! Anyway, to Anonymous, i think you should complain to those people that run the place where these washrooms are, simply saying that you dont feel comfortable having a male cleaner walking into the Washrooms without warning, and that its happened twice. I'm sure that will be enough to sort the problem out. If not, then the next time he walks in, confront him, or if your too shy, just kick him between his legs, HARD :D But dont accuse him of being a Perv. I remeber once last year, i accidently walked into a womans toilet, not realising it. It was right next to the lift where their were a few people waiting to go into the lift. I was bursting to go, so just assumed it was a mans toilet. It wasnt until i was washing my hands that i realised the colours looked out of place for a mans washroom, pink etc, and thier were no urinals, and i nervously walked out, and to my horror when i looked at the sign, it was a WOMANS room!!! I was SOO embarrased, but i laughed it off! Now i ALWAYS look at the sign before going in!! Now if thier were any woman in thier, they would have thought i was a perv! |

| hahaha, that is sooooooooooooo funny, u actually walked in the womans WASH room :o-lol (and ur tellin the public this???) :-/ (sorry, i just couldn't help but laugh) Sister Anon, do something. My sister always has her scarf on when she does wudu in a non-muslim environment!!! She says its not worth the risk as non-believers don't always respect u 4 covering!!! But i totally agree, it really depends where u are!!! Also the brother is right Kathy, dont call him a perv, accidents happen, my niece always goes to the mens loo;) (with me, well thats cos i am NOT going to take her to the girls 1, u never no..i might be called a PERV 4 standing out side plus i'd definately look stupid;D-lol) Anyways take care...and try to avoid the wrong rooms |

| [slm] Hey guys- please read the post more carefully. They weren't regular guys needing to use the bathrooms- she said they were the caretakers- ie. janitors. I also used the word "or" and stand behind my statement- In a city between Albany and me- two weeks ago a perv attacked a woman- in the bathroom! So girls- please be careful! |

| [slm] in the train stations in France - or at least Paris - the shower/washing facilities are mixed :o here in Germany it's relaxed too - if it's a guy who is employed to clean the bathrooms he can just walk in and do whatever .. mop or clean..and if it's a woman she just walks into the mens .... even when there are men at the urinals :o :o And in my school once, there was this guy standing outside the women's toilets and he stopped my group and asked us to go in and get some toilet paper coz the guys had run out. All my friends were laughing at him and telling him not to be so stupid - just to go in and get some :o :o The poor guy was mortified wasalaam eleanor :-* |
