| Asalamu Alykum Wa RhamtuAllah, Alhamdulliah, I met a sister who is interested in Islam. she started reading the Quran in nov and her boyfriend was the first one to tell her about Islam and Muslims. However, now she is having some problems with him because he always tells her, how she has to listen to him otherwise she'll trangress(whatever that means) and lil things like she can't shave her legs :o. So here I am trying to her about how Islam elevates women and about gender equality. She has no support from her family , they feel that she is being brainwashed. So i started telling her about the five pillars of Islam and and general things about tahrah. SubhanAllah whatever I tell her she listens and tries to implement it immediately and sometimes its overwhelming for me ( I don't want her to do it cause I tell her to, she really needs to understand why shez doing it?). I am trying to organize this Sisterhood in Islam event on campus because she really wants to meet Muslim reverts and other sisters. So I was wondering, if you have any suggestions on what I should do and or books that you recommend or any advice that you would like to give me. JazakumAllahu Khair :-X |
