Question for thirtysomething+ crowd (women only!)

Hi all,

I hope this gets through and is not offensive to anyone, but I am to embarrassed to ask anyone face to face...have any of the sisters in their thirties experienced their breasts changing shape?  I'm not talking about sagging...I mean the actual shape going from round to more, well, pointy.  Does anyone know if this is a sign of cancer or something?  ???

Worried,

Sparrow

I don't know, but I'd DEFINITELY check it out with the Doc.

I think many women see a bit of shape change (not just sagging) as they age.  If you are really concerned though, please see your obgyn -- if for no other reason than that it will ease your mind.  Another factor to consider is what has happened to the women in your family (both mother's and father's sides!) -- have any of them experienced something like this?

Check with your Doc if you are concerned. When did you have your last Mamagram?

The pointing is usually the beggining of the sag.... it's called gravity!

:-) Sparrow- the usual signs of breast cancer are: an abnormal or bloody discharge from the nipples, hard and immovable lumps felt on self-exam, dimpling(like the looks of cellulite) on the breast when the arms are elevated above the head, any obvious swellings or open sores ( the source not accounted for). Tenderness can be just the normal hormonal changes, but actual pain should also be investigated. A trip to the doctor is essential for your peace of mind along with your health.
Hope all your worries are for naught- will make du'a for you.

Hi All,

I had the mammogram and everything seems okay on that front (thank God!) but I still think something is funny with the breast.  The doc said it could be hormonal.  If anyone has any suggestions I'd love to hear them!

Peace,
Sparrow

Hi Sparrow,

This is just a shot in the dark, since I don't really know you.  Have you though about changing your eating habits or using homeopathic methods?  If you feel like something just isn't right, but you are not sure what then maybe you should try to cleanse your body from all of the chemicals that we consume daily.

Just a though.

Insha'Allah everything is okay.

another thing springs to mind...Have you started taking the contraceptive pill? I know when I took it my body reacted to it through weight gain and ...errrmm... BROTHERS CLOSE YOUR EYES.... breast growth...

So if you have been on any hormonal tablets maybe it could be linked to that.
